Get Rooney before United

Kane at Spurs there's a semi-decent argument to be made there, though seems only a matter of time before he moves on himself.
But kane has been competing for trophies with spurs. He was in a champions league final and in a title race with Leicester.

Tell me one player as good as Rooney that stayed with one club not competing for trophies.
Matt Le Tissier. I am sure you will say he was Rooney's level but that is not my point. Modern football demands elite players are at elite clubs winning elite trophies, which is then shown on loop on 24 hour sports news channels, but it wasn't always that way and maybe doesn't have to be.

No it really isn’t, he didn’t say when.

He clearly states Everton were “touting him about, wanted to sell him to Chelsea and he was heartbroken”.

If your bitterness towards him leaving because of that can’t take that on board, then I’m afraid I can’t help you.

Edit: if you were playing for your boyhood club who you supported and found out they were trying to sell you behind your back, how would you feel?
But he said he would've left anyway, anyway being the operative word suggesting that he would have done that regardless of being touted as he wanted to better himself and win trophies. That's not me being bitter, that's literally Rooney stating a fact there. If you can't understand that then I'm not sure I can break it down any further for you.

Course I'd feel gutted if I played for Everton and they tried to sell me behind my back, but I wouldn't say I would've gone anyway, I would say that I wanted to stay there my entire career

They stay beyond the age of 19!

It's not like he was leaving a club from the I-Zingari League.

Anyway we came 4th the season after he left. With him in the side we could have won everything...

Lets not forget here, Rooney is a lying granny shagging, prostitute farting on, duplicitous, potato headed rat.

Why does anyone take him at his word?

He's doing a good job having Derby still with a fighting chance after the point deductions. All the best to him if he keeps them up somehow it'll be a major achievement.

In the meantime however I think rightly or wrongly we'll be stuck with Benitez while we navigate FFP restrictions.

Hopefully once that is over we can part ways with Benitez and have the club be in the state that would give a young up and coming manager a chance.
And the winner of the prestigious Mystic Meg award goes to.....

Everton we’re skint? Change the record mate. Believing Kenwright’s BS
As for trying to win things well doesn’t every player?
He was only 18 FFS. He should have stayed for 3 more years. Believed his hype as the press were trying to sell him whilst he was doing the business for England.
Couldn’t wait to get away.
Still say he didn’t become the player he should have . Fergie ruined him.

Never wanted him back here and I don’t want to see him here in any capacity in the future.
Wake up mate. We are talking about ambition to win trophies. Not just trying to win the Merseyside derby every now and again Everton have won 1 FA Cup in 35 years.
Of course we were skint. Look at the tranfers under Moyes and look at the state of Goodison.

OK lad. You obviously know everything about our finances in those days.
Kenwright always crying poverty. Wouldn’t believe anything that comes out of his mouth. He’s pocketed a load of cash out of us over the years and people like you still believe him.
Wouldn’t it have been better to keep him as he was one of the best players in the world at that time. Club could
have generated at lot more cash instead of giving the richest club in the world interest free credit over 3 years. Absolute joke of a chairman.
Every season getting the Premier league money
Wasn’t it 3 years we did not sign a player for
He had us all over. Never big spenders. No other team cried poverty
We sold out most weeks. Could never understand why we had no money

Whereas Bill Kenwright isn’t an absolute charlatan who wouldn’t move the club to Kirkby for his own financial benefit, nor sell the best player in the clubs history just to keep himself at the helm.

Matt Le Tissier - great player - not at rooneys level... won feck all... staying at Southampton the problem there
