Everton were skint. Also Rooney had ambition to win things and he won absolutely everything at club level. I was gutted at the time thoughAbsolutely spot on mate.
Said the same thing at the time. Proper Evertonians would never have done that. Don’t really class him as a blue myself. Well not like me anyway
Tell me one player as good as Rooney that stayed with one club not competing for trophies.Ah Sky Sports is strong with this one. Only good footballers win trophies and loyalty has to be sacrificed for trophies. To hell with being record goal scorer at your boyhood club, when you can win the Champions League for a club you grew up hating, and are hated by that clubs fans.
Ronaldo became much better than Rooney. At the point Rooney joined he looked the best player in the worldThere is literally no doubt in my mind ronaldo is so much better than Rooney.
There is no argument
No he was being paid a fortune doing Q and A at a black tie event in Manchester.Did he give an interview to The Sun??
Everton we’re skint? Change the record mate. Believing Kenwright’s BSEverton were skint. Also Rooney had ambition to win things and he won absolutely everything at club level. I was gutted at the time though

Take off their points deduction, and they're still rubbish. He's doing a good job having Derby still with a fighting chance after the point deductions. All the best to him if he keeps them up somehow it'll be a major achievement.
In the meantime however I think rightly or wrongly we'll be stuck with Benitez while we navigate FFP restrictions.
Hopefully once that is over we can part ways with Benitez and have the club be in the state that would give a young up and coming manager a chance.
Tony Hibbert.Tell me one player as good as Rooney that stayed with one club not competing for trophies.
Why don’t people take notice of what actually happened? All of this bitterness towards Rooney is completely misguided and unnecessary.
Everton told Rooney they were selling him and were pushing him to move to Chelsea. He wouldn’t go there and insisted on going to United.
It was the clubs fault, not his. The interview with Bellew is here.

Shearer had won the prem before he left, and Newcastle were in a better position than us at the time, maybe he thought he could have won something with them.Matt Le Tissier.
Alan Shearer turned down trophies for his boyhood club in the prime of his career too, they were only there or there abouts for a couple of years.
No it really isn’t, he didn’t say when.Watch the actual interview. Less than a minute in he says that he would've left at some point to "better himself and win trophies" so the whole point is moot

Kane at Spurs there's a semi-decent argument to be made there, though seems only a matter of time before he moves on himself.Tell me one player as good as Rooney that stayed with one club not competing for trophies.
