Get Rooney before United

OK lad. You obviously know everything about our finances in those days.
Kenwright always crying poverty. Wouldn’t believe anything that comes out of his mouth. He’s pocketed a load of cash out of us over the years and people like you still believe him.
Wouldn’t it have been better to keep him as he was one of the best players in the world at that time. Club could
have generated at lot more cash instead of giving the richest club in the world interest free credit over 3 years. Absolute joke of a chairman.
Every season getting the Premier league money
Wasn’t it 3 years we did not sign a player for
He had us all over. Never big spenders. No other team cried poverty
We sold out most weeks. Could never understand why we had no money
Your living in Dream land. If a player wants to leave eventually he will get his own way.
I'm not Kenwrights biggest fan and I think he could of got more for Rooney but ultimately you can't stop a player leaving.
Lescott is another example of player power. He eventually got his way at left after we dug our heels in.

But for the millionth time…..Rooney only left at that time because the club wanted to sell him.

It’s like shouting into an empty vessel on here at times.

He couldn't wait to get out. He also couldn't wait to take a pop at our manager in his "book" for stuff that was later found to be untrue.

He is a rat. Always will be. Talented rat but a rat none the less.

I’d act like a rat too if the club I’d loved as a kid were touting me around before the ink was dry on my first contract.

The bottom line though, he’s a serial winner, Everton are serial losers. Hence the bitterness towards him from many.

My bitterness to him is mainly because he is a pretty horrific person.

He loved the money and the success. Nowt wrong with that either, but let's not pretend it was anything else.

Obviously he has managed to gather a pretty decent PR team...

Horrible take on a player that (even for a short time) was the most exciting player I have seen in and Everton shirt.
I just don’t get the hatrid that comes with an 18 years leaving - with the will of the club - and going on to have one of the most successful careers of anyone to come through the Everton ranks.
Internet age allows weird opinions to become mainstream.
Birmingham City fans have a completely different take on Jude Bellingham

I don't get why the number of trophies won becomes the determining factor of his ability. He single handedly kept a team in the top division, check out his goals.
I loved le tissier - he would not have stayed at Southampton in the champions league age.
Also ever played for England enough because he stayed at Southampton.
If anything it shows that you need to move clubs.

It was common knowledge in the city that he was going to the mancs long before they made their bid. Bill constantly denied it and the chelsea & Newcastle “bids” where nothing but a smokescreen so he could say I told you so.

As we were talking about trying to make your hometown club great again, I meant Newcastle.
Pretty sure if Rooney started at Southampton won the league at Blackburn and Everton were challenging for titles, playing exciting football and hosting and beating the likes of Barcelona at goodison he would have come back to us.
Shearer didn’t join Newcastle when they were struggling
