Nearly won the league and got to a champs league final too. Hardly the sameKane at Spurs there's a semi-decent argument to be made there, though seems only a matter of time before he moves on himself.

Stayed at Southampton, or Blackburn or are you thinking of Newcastle?Shearer
Your living in Dream land. If a player wants to leave eventually he will get his own way.OK lad. You obviously know everything about our finances in those days.
Kenwright always crying poverty. Wouldn’t believe anything that comes out of his mouth. He’s pocketed a load of cash out of us over the years and people like you still believe him.
Wouldn’t it have been better to keep him as he was one of the best players in the world at that time. Club could
have generated at lot more cash instead of giving the richest club in the world interest free credit over 3 years. Absolute joke of a chairman.
Every season getting the Premier league money
Wasn’t it 3 years we did not sign a player for
He had us all over. Never big spenders. No other team cried poverty
We sold out most weeks. Could never understand why we had no money
But for the millionth time…..Rooney only left at that time because the club wanted to sell him.Your living in Dream land. If a player wants to leave eventually he will get his own way.
I'm not Kenwrights biggest fan and I think he could of got more for Rooney but ultimately you can't stop a player leaving.
Lescott is another example of player power. He eventually got his way at left after we dug our heels in.
I mean it can be both...Whereas Bill Kenwright isn’t an absolute charlatan who wouldn’t move the club to Kirkby for his own financial benefit, nor sell the best player in the clubs history just to keep himself at the helm.
He couldn't wait to get out. He also couldn't wait to take a pop at our manager in his "book" for stuff that was later found to be untrue. But for the millionth time…..Rooney only left at that time because the club wanted to sell him.
It’s like shouting into an empty vessel on here at times.
I’d act like a rat too if the club I’d loved as a kid were touting me around before the ink was dry on my first contract. He couldn't wait to get out. He also couldn't wait to take a pop at our manager in his "book" for stuff that was later found to be untrue.
He is a rat. Always will be. Talented rat but a rat none the less.
My bitterness to him is mainly because he is a pretty horrific person.I’d act like a rat too if the club I’d loved as a kid were touting me around before the ink was dry on my first contract.
The bottom line though, he’s a serial winner, Everton are serial losers. Hence the bitterness towards him from many.

I don't get why the number of trophies won becomes the determining factor of his ability. He single handedly kept a team in the top division, check out his goals.Matt Le Tissier - great player - not at rooneys level... won feck all... staying at Southampton the problem there
I loved le tissier - he would not have stayed at Southampton in the champions league age.I don't get why the number of trophies won becomes the determining factor of his ability. He single handedly kept a team in the top division, check out his goals.
As we were talking about trying to make your hometown club great again, I meant Newcastle.Stayed at Southampton, or Blackburn or are you thinking of Newcastle?
Pretty sure if Rooney started at Southampton won the league at Blackburn and Everton were challenging for titles, playing exciting football and hosting and beating the likes of Barcelona at goodison he would have come back to us.As we were talking about trying to make your hometown club great again, I meant Newcastle.
