Yeah. She is huge. Another option is rhianna. She was meant to play this year but had a baby.I don't think I ever realise how big pink is, she seems to be huge. Always one of the top played on Spotify

In the eye of the beholder I suppose.I thought the quality was top drawer, and a lot of people who know much more about music than I do agreed.
I'm just a music fan who can play a few chords on a guitar. But lots of other proper music people thought it was a superb show.
Peak in terms of still being able to function on stage.2 bands that formed in '77 and '80 respectively. Hardly bands at their peak.
Most of the people that go Glasto are 30-50.. That's their prime music eras!!Looking back on it, this years headliners was a massive step back. they pretty much had 3 acts where people wanted to hear songs they realised 20+ years ago, give or take
A massive popstar (Taylor Swift), a hiphop type person, and fleetwood mac would work next year

Their place on the bill was absurd. Totally agree with all your choices, plus there's: Stay Beautiful, So Why So Sad, 1985, PCP, Revol, La Tristesse Durera, Little Baby Nothing, Tsunami, etc. I can only guess they used their relatively low-key billing as a chance to play one more from The Holy Bible (still their least commercial record, nearly 30 years on) than any of their other albums. It's a bit of a strange one with the Manics
They were probably the biggest British rock/alternative/indie band around the turn of the century - but, as you say, they consistently continued releasing new music since then - and the number of people buying it has dwindled (despite it being some of their finest stuff - both 'Journal for Plague Lovers' and 'Send Away the Tigers' are great albums)
There's a bit of a "Show us your setlist before we book you" about the situation. If they were to play
Motorcycle Emptiness
You Love Us
A Design for Life
From Despair to Where
Faster
Suicide is Painless
Kevin Carter
Everything Must Go
Your Love Alone is not Enough
Australia
If you Tolerate this...
You Stole the sun
The Masses against the Classes
The Everlasting
Motown Junk
Who would really argue that they shoudn't be in that Arctic Monkeys slot?
New Order is a great shout tbf. Think they'd need to get Hook back on board though. They have the Joy Division catalogue to fall back on too which is probably better than their own stuff IMO. Great live too.Simple Minds, New Order, etc would be all over that slot.
I would say anyone who thinks modern day music is rubbish live probably isnt into music that much to take notice of any good new acts coming up.
There's been some absolutely terrible headliners in the last few years - especially Coldplay and Ed Sherran
