Zaha isnt a Striker.
Ive said we need a Striker AND a wing forward, attackers and Strikers difference seems to the issue here.

Be interested to see if Gibson comes into the first team squad.
It will depend on many factors :
1. Is he still here, we might possibly look at a loan if we think hes not needed just yet
2. How Silva views Holgate in terms of RB/CB and also if hes still here
3. I know people have said this Gbammin fella can play CB, im not convinced, but again, it will depend on how Silva/Brands rates him as a CB
Currently I dont see him getting many minutes, but im looking at it from a POV that we have got in a CB, plus Gbammin and we view Holgate as a viable option, this may of course change.

I know he isn't. My point is that if that cash is there and the trophy-signing is not there for us to make a reality, the cash will be switched elsewhere to beef up the attack.
Trophy-signing? People do realise Zaha plays for Palace after flopping at United, the only statement his signing makes is that Brands has morphed into Steve Walsh.

Two attackers(Kean+another) would be disastrous imo. DCL is a perfect backup, young, promising with plenty of quality (bar finishing).
In addition as you say, we could use Richarlison here, so in case of Kean flopping or being injured, we have more than adequate cover.
I know opinions on DCL are split to put it mildly, but I honestly believe it is unrealistic to get in 2 strikers better than DCL in our current state.
A loan could swing both ways, but I personally love DCLs current development, and think he is a real asset. If we had more prolific wide attackers(Zaha?), it would take a lot of weight of his shoulders (Bernard and Walcott especially comes to mind), and playing second fiddle/putting pressure on Kean should be a perfect setup for him imo.

The money - seems to be - there for a big signing, as it stands. I don't just mean a big name, but a big-money addition and most likely that will be in the forward area.
I think we all need to stop viewing our attackers as strikers/wingers etc. They're all forwards it seems in Silva's eyes. The big plus of Zaha is he can play anywhere in that frontline very well. If we do go back for him and get him I'll be delighted, as I just think, realistically, he's the best player we could attract for that role right now.
But, I'd be delighted to be surprised.
This is exactly the logic in going for Zaha, I believe.
We need a wide forward who can get into/close to double figures, just like Rich does and then Gylfi from midfield.
That means that if DCL can get his 7/8, and if Kean can get 9-10, it's not the end of the world. We have goals from elsewhere.
Bernard, as much as I like him, is never gonna be that goalscoring wide man imo, though reckon he's capable of 5-7 easy if he just gets a bit more composure - which will come if, like we did late last season, we regularly create two or three chances for each of our attacking players in every game.

Zaha is a very good player, he creates mayhem, he makes people foul him, in our set up, with Zaha on 1 side, Rico on the other and the boy Moist through the middle, my word, it it clicked, World Cup mate.
I love little Bernie, but his digits were quite poor, if he wants to play more, hes gonna have to up those, but hes got magic in his boots, hes the type you would pay to watch. Im hopeful he can improve next season and show his class.
Look for me we need a Wing forward, wider, attacker, whatever you wanna call him and Zaha has proven he can play in this league and to a degree stand out, he would cost a vast sum, but hes a quality player.
Now no more Zaha talk in here, its not a speculation thread!!!!!!!!
In England, perhaps...that's not a "trophy" signing for me in the truest sense, though. We haven't made one of those since I started supporting.

A decisive move this summer when Kean is confirmed would be to sell DCL and have his successor lined up. That's what a club on the up would do. DCL fails at doing what he's there to do: score. Keeping him to run around is like saying you should keep a guard dog without any teeth because they can still bark.
