Think that is nailed on now. They're offering obscene money (I've seen 9 digits as a given, as much as 500m) and he's got 5 years worth of major exemptions. At this point who knows what the landscape is going to be in 5 years so that's plenty of time.

It's just a shame man. A lot of talk about golf needing change but even if you think that is true the LIV is clearly not interested in change for the good of the sport at large. I'm not really sold that it is true myself.

Such a shame for Rory I'm not sure how he keeps dealing with these nearly misses, it's not like he bottled it he played great just nothing dropped at the worst possible time, another day he shoots a 66 with that golf.

Agree. Rory didn't bogey, hit every green in regulation and still lost a 4 shot lead which just shows what an insane round Smith shot.

The stuff they say about growing the game is a bit ridiculous. They've just had their first tournaments - one in America and one in Hertfordshire. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of golf courses on the west coast of America and in the south of England.

The majors don't need any changes. The fedex doesn't really need any changes. What I would argue is that the big tournaments in the European tour need to be scheduled better so that the PGA tour based players can play. The Scottish open is fine the week before the open. But then there's the Irish open, Wentworth, the French open etc. There should be a common approach between the European and PGA tours because these are the events where there is no reason there couldn't be a high quality field of players from both tours. But playing the Irish open like a week after the US open is never going to work.

Be a shame if Stenson accepts the LIV $sss, always liked him as a golfer and he has a great sense of humour!
Going to be a tough one for him if he has to resign the Ryder Cup captaincy but no doubt the Saudi $ will ease the disappointment!

Shame for Rory but as has been said he didn't play bad, 3/4 putts literally shaving the edge the of the hole and one agonisingly falling an inch short, again nothing new here but on another day it would have easily been at least 3 shots better.

That run on the back 9 from Smith was just insane golf and fair play but what is this talk now that he is going to take the blood money? Always seemed like a decent guy playing the game for the legacy.

Victor Hovland flattered to deceive on Saturday but crashed and burned on super Sunday.

At least I got a run at the death on my bet for him to win any Major bet in 2022.
He was hopeless in the other three.

The Brisbane boy was the right winner though as his putter was so dialled in particularly on Friday and more importantly on the back nine on a Sunday.

As his mates in the gallery adorned in green and yellow yelled out to him on the course "Go Cam the bullet with a mullet". He delivered the biggest catch of all.
