Be worth checking out what flexibility in the shaft suits you best at the moment before you “invest”! A quick trip to somewhere like American Golf should give you an idea - doesn’t necessarily mean you have to buy it off them!

Thanks for that mate, I was actually thinking of doing that or going for a fitting. On the website you can spec the club yourself but I’ll be honest I have no idea what length shaft or even shaft brand/type I’d need. PXG will fit you for it but I’d have to go to their fitting centre. I’m thinking of doing that and booking into a nice hotel so Mrs bluerob can come along and get a Spa treatment while I go get it.

Played Southport & Ainsdale yesterday, lovely course. I played well first few holes then fell apart, I need to get to the range or out on rounds a bit more often.

S&A is a great track , not quite as good as Hillside.

Both far more interesting to play than Birkdale IMO

I haven’t played either of them, yet. I’ve played West Lancs and I thought that was boss as well.

I think I’m going to join Hurlston Hall next week, so I can get out a bit more often. That’s a decent course that’s not at the break your bank prices which the others we’ve mentioned are.

Not played Hurlestone in years. Used to be a member when it first opened. Interesting course bit yhe greens weren't great. However I think it's on the Challenger tour now so greens should be excellent.

If you get the chance try toplay Ormskirk a lovely parkland course.

I played there the other week and the greens were in great condition. Will give Ormskirk a try, nice one.

I did! But only just, I got a par on that one actually. I only managed 6 all round, most of them on the front.

Saw someone hit them one time from pretty close up, and he stood and watched the ball sail back over his head and played his next from about 30 yards further back!

Just been reading about the latest Trump rally, or it might have been a golf tournament, from what I read it was hard to tell.

Very poor turnout by all accounts, not sure they have done themselves any favours by giving him a stage. Thought they were trying to grow the game, whoever's decision it was to go there needs sacking.

Been reported that Tiger Woods turned down between 700m and 800m to join the LIV tour.

That's around 6x his career tournament earnings to date.

Doesn't need it. Has the better part of that even after the divorce, thanks to all the Nike money. Future Nike money is probably worth the better part of that to him anyway.

Finau is playing some golf. Nice to see him finally turning into a winner. Bags of talent. A joy to watch play in person.

Agree with regard to Finau.
Impressed with his ability to shape a variety of shots. Pleased to see him excelling. Seems a genuinely nice person as well
