Been to Skegness today , blew the diet right out the window , 2 lots of chippy , waffles and ice cream and a random Snickers for good measure #FattyBumBum

He's an absolute tool! He used to be a bench specialist (Powerlifting), had a very good bench too. Ruined it all by claiming to be drug free though, generally ridiculed in powerlifting circles. He's moved on to taking his clown show to youtube these days.

i watched the clip about him been a powerlifter and his illness that stopped all that
his top bench was 725lbs
his motivational clips are crazy, mother-effing this mother effing that.

Have you not picked up on the fact he lies a lot??

He's not benched 725lbs. If you can find any evidence that he has, it will most definitely be in a bench shirt. To put that into context, the top guys do roughly a grand in a shirt.

His raw benching, although I couldn't find much evidence for it, was just over 6 I think. I found a clip of him working with over 5. He was a huge guy, no way was he clean, but having said that he was a very good bench press specialist. I just wouldn't listen to any of the crazy advice he gives, it's all BS

That 725 never happened, I'd put my life on it.

Eric Spotto currently holds the record, regardless of body weight, at 722lbs

Prior to that it was held by Scot Mandelson with a 715lb press.

James Henderson held it before that with a 700lb press. That pre dates CJ's lifting and supersedes it.

There's a big jump from 650 to 725lb.

If you find him motivational that's cool, I just find him a tool personally :)

think im on week 13 now, 3 more weeks till Barcelona as well

have started doing a long run once a week (8 miles) and started swimming alongside my gym sessions.

have also recently started using kettlebells which i quite enjoy.

Been doing my mums cross trainer (which only I use, it may as well be in ours) on my lunch most days, and got 10kg dumbbell this week. Eating much healthier too.

Since November, have lost 2 stone.

I posted earlier that I've lost 40 pounds since March by riding a bike to work, which is great. The problem I'm now seeing is that I'm losing muscle mass from the constant cardio. I've never been one to over eat (I actually count calories in reverse, trying to get to 2,000/day). Any suggestions for ways to put on lean mass while still getting the benefits of the cardiovascular work? I already do weights, I just need to find a way to gain strength while dropping weight. Most of my friends just say to eat loads of chicken.

It's unlikely you're losing that much lean tissue. You're likely losing viscous fat, which is hard, and also losing fat all over your body and not just from your belly.

You hold fat all over your body, and it's not always wobbly and saggy. That's where you'll get the illusion that you're more muscly than you actually are

If you want to put on some size, just add a couple of days of lifting into your week. You don't need to be in the gym six days a week.

If gaining strength is your main motivation, that's pretty easy to do. Even easier than gaining muscle! Again a couple of days in the gym, three would be better, and you'll be fine.

Thanks. I may have gone a bit crazy by dropping so much weight, getting a six pack for the first time in 10-15 years, then becoming afraid of turning into a 98lb Ethiopian child. The consensus seems to be trying to mix in a few (healthy) snacks per day and upping the weights.

What consensus? You don't need to snack at all

If you want to gain strength, it's pretty simple. Keep the reps below 5, do lots of sets, and train frequently

If you want to gain size, lift a moderate to light weight (8-12 reps), do fewer sets and train less frequently for recovery.

If you've got a six pack, the last thing I'd do is over eat to 'bulk up'. Your natural test levels will be a little higher if your'e lower in body fat anyway, and what's the point of putting fat on if you'll actually look better by staying lean and gaining a little extra solid tissue

Just keep doing what you're doing diet wise, it seems to have worked very well.
