Know a few people who train there, hear good things!

Yeah it's a decent weights gym, some good equipment and good people there. Will be off there in two hours for a legs sesh, working on the depth aspect at the moment on squats, not exactly looking forward to tonight!

Lads, are there any decent websites that have gym work-outs for beginners? Weighed myself yesterday and it wasn't pretty, need to lose some timber! Haven't really been to the gym properly in years so it's probably best I start from scratch.

Going for another run tonight with the big-breasted blonde babe from my work. Will ensure I always run a step or two behind to glimpse a niew view of her hot arse.

Surprised I've not seen this thread before, then again I'm only an occasional browser and mostly when on lunch in work! (n)

Anyway, I'm going to start putting some bits on here that i do if thats ok. Have been a gym goer for a good few years now, used to mainly do circuits / spin etc to lose some bulk but have been shifting weights for the last 18 months ever since i had an epidural for 3 problamatic discs in my lumbar and it's helped no end. Really getting in to the nutritional side of things now also which is helping, but as some have said on here my god does it cost a small fortune to eat healthy, especially when going for around 3500 calories a day! My training is normally 6 days a week, weights for 3, cardio circuits for 2 and recently started strongman events training on a Sunday at DL Fitness in Rhyl which is headed by Simon Johnston (Wales strongest man for the last few years).

My fav has to be back day, i love dead lifting. Up to 195kg at the moment (only started dead lifting in March last year and hit a PB then of 150Kg). I will pull 200 though on my next max day, I've been after it for so long!

Glad i found this thread :)

Just be careful with your exercise selection if you've had disc problems. There are certain movements that you should avoid in strongman training, log press being a big no no. When doing a log press there is typically quite a lot of backwards lean, which isn't good if you've had a disc problem.

Try front squatting more, you'll get less stress on your discs. Dale Norris who used to win the Welsh strong man every year he wasn't injured before switching to MMA had to transition to them for the bulk of his training after a disc bulge.

You'll also likely lack some back control, so make sure someone is watching your deadlift and making sure you have no play in your alignment when pulling. Don't assume someone will know to look for this either

Brian Carol has a few videos up on his webpage, with Stuart Mcgill giving him some one on one instruction. http://briangcarroll.com

Avoid sit ups, crunches, and good mornings too.

Good luck with the 200kg (y)

Had a decent run again tonight...... 2.7 miles ( 4.35 k) in a time of 24.06 ...... Getting better.

Well done mate. Just got back from 4.5m but super slow as I was with the fit chick who kept complaining of having a stitch

I did a mile in 10 minutes and I was breathing out my arse. Long way to go on this fitness regime.

That was me a month ago mate.... Lost a stone in weight so far.... Another stone to go.

I'm not that fussed about time at the moment as I know I'm carrying probably 15-20 pound excess weight..... It's all about getting the miles in the legs and building stamina at the moment....... Bare in mind, I'm 38 now so it don't come off as easy as it used too.

Keep going jockles lad.... You'll get there xxxx

Have you taught her the old trick to get rid of it? Get her to put her fingers under her ribcage on the left then bend over. While shes doing this you can have a good old look at her t&a, and it helps to get rid of her stitch.
