Nice one for that mate. From what I've stuied a bit myself it seems to be causes by lower back muscles and hip flexors working too hard to over compensate for weak hamstrings and abs?

Any physios you'd recommend?

If you live in South Wales I can recommend one, but otherwise I'm at a loss.

There will be a few different reasons why it could happen, weak hamstrings weren't a reason for me. My hamstrings were stupidly strong in comparison to other muscles. My lower back was basically working overtime and locking itself into place. Most of my time was spent re training my lower back to relax, and getting my gluteus to fire up properly.

Weak core was also an issue, but mine was more to do with the muscles simply not firing. When you talk about core though, you're not actually talking about your abs, so don't mistakingly think you should be doing sit ups etc. Sit ups and crunches will actually cause your disc to bulge or herniate.

Right okay, thanks for all the info pal. I'll have a little look today for some good physios in Liverpool.

Try and look for one that treats high ish level sports people, not the stars. Typically, in my experience, the ones who treat the big stars do it for free or they've only treated them a few times. In other words, you're not exactly getting the full picture.

If you can find one who treats triathletes, or dancers, you're onto a winner. Try to look for one with MMACP after their name

Haven't been on here for a couple of months due to ' life stuff '.... I'm not as busy now, so obviously I wanted to see how my fellow blues are shaping up.

Hope everyone is well and getting out and about, shedding some lbs for the summer.

Btw I have to say, I'm getting pretty jacked. I'm made up and I can see the end in sight. I've got through my personal ' phase 1 ' which was to lose the fat and since xmas have been hammering ' phase 2 '.... building solid muscle.

I actually turn heads and I'm loving the attention from the girls like. ( hope my girl isn't on here like ). Hard work pays off guys. Never quit.

Haven't been able to train all week due to a recurring strain on the back left hand side of my neck where it meets my shoulder, more in my trap really. Annoying like. You know that one strain you always get? That.

Not had much time to get the gym lately so I've gone backwards a little bit. Just did a shoulder session then had so little energy that my vision was blurry.

Jesus lol

Go easy lad. Gotta ease back into it when you've not done it for a while. Why did you choose a shoulder session as your first one? Just curious

Aye... the one where you cant turn your head a certain way unless you look like a tit, turning your whole body?

It's not my first session back, I've just been limited to 2-3 sessions a week instead of the 4-6 I was doing. Lost a bit of motivation for it and started to eat a bit of crap again. Going to try and get properly back in to it now.

Not good that mate

We all do it though so don't beat yourself up over it. Just gotta figure out what your short term and long term goals actually are.... try not to set the bar too high lad.

Why do think you lost the motivation? Maybe it was the 4-6 sessions a week.... too much?? Could be wearing you down and burning you out.
