Off for a run lads, first one since a week before my holiday. It's been about six weeks... don't even want to know how much weight I've put on since then. Got down from 82KG to 77KG pre-holiday! That's my aim again now, 75KG before summer.

COY-ME!

Is right... felt like I was gonna die after 1.5miles () but kept going without stopping going further than I ever did even before my holiday; total of 6.5miles (10.5km) in 55 minutes, burning over 850 calories.

Tired now, but glad I had the willpower to continue and power on and on.

Has anyone ever took a tub or pouch of protein with them on a plane, going away for 10 days at the end of the month and just wondering whether ill get any hassle taking powder through with me, and is it best taking it in hand luggage or in suitcase?

Has the genre changed much? Haven't really been into it for close on a decade now, but hear that Kenny Ken and many of the blokes from that era are still playing. Dunno how old he is but he must be 50 or so.

AndyC is playing just down the road from me in Brixton not long after we get back from Czech. Tempted to take the other half for old times sake.

I've not really been on 'the scene' for a few years myself. I used to go to a few DnB/Dubstep nights back around 2005-2008 or so, I think my last one may have been London Elektricity at The Magnet in Liverpool in 2007 or 2008. He's still going now and is over 40 too. I only listen to stuff from around then in the gym as it keeps me going, but from what I've heard the newer stuff is a bit naff. Some of the old producers I used to listen to have cashed in and made music for the masses.

Taken energy powder on a plane before. Was in the hold and had no issues with it.

No idea if it's the same for running as with cycling, but having a decent sized fan is essential for cycling indoors. Do you tend to sweat much on a treadmill?

I do, but one of the garage doors has a glass pane missing which provides some pretty cool blasts of air, that or I can just open both the doors as my garage is behind my house and doesn't open out onto the road.

Aye, when I had access to a garage I'd train out there and it was alright, although obviously in summer it would still get warm even with the doors open. If you do decide on a fan, I've been using this one for the last 18 months or so and it's smashing.

Has a remote control with it so you can turn up and down the intensity level as required (say for your warm up/cool down) without having to be next to the fan. Also has a temperature reading on it, which is handy.

Friend of mine has just got his website up and running. Got some decent articles on there.

http://myhealthandbody.co.uk/is-your-metabolism-fast-or-slow/

Just read this article... typically clueless, I'm afraid.

It's nothing to do with fast/slow metabolism and some perceived notion of basel metabolic rate - it's how genetically insulin sensitive you are that determines the macronutrients you can eat and (not) gain weight. If you have a high tendency toward insulin resistance then eating the wrong composition (note: not volume) of macronutrients will trigger the fat storage mechanism in your body.
