While test is used for strength and size increases, it is a major recovery aid. It's the recovery element that some argue is the primary benefit for strength athletes.
Test derivatives have three benefits: androgenic (strength), anabolic (size), recovery. None of these are mutually exclusive, and the type of training stimuli will ultimately determine the type used, and primary function, of the steroid. For the endurance athlete the testosterone derivatives are simply part of a cocktail of performance enhances that would be taken.
Finally don't underestimate the power output difference between elite cyclists and amateurs.
