GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

William Regal 100% should of been world champion at least once. I know he had his personal issues but he was more then fine for long enough to justify at least one run, even if just as a transitional champion for a mouth or two. It's actually depressing that Jinder Mahal is a former WWE champion and somebody like Regal isn't.(n)

Regals King of the ring run was some of the most entertaining stuff in my time as a WWE viewer. Brilliant stuff. I remember how let down I was when he got suspended, as I'm sure they were planning on putting the title on him.

When it comes to the Rushmore I picked wrestlers from my own time as a fan. If I were to look completely objectively/historically on it, I guess guys like Harley Race and André The Giant would be legit contenders too, and my all-time fave Sting would probably be out.

Always thought if he was better on the mic, Davey boy smith would of at least been world champion once in either wwf/e or wcw.
Bulldog should have had it at some point 100% based on talent. His personal issues are almost certainly the reason behind that though sadly. Had he been in a better place his win against Bret at Summerslam 92 might have been the springboard. But his issues with steroids, and according to Bret, crack put paid to that. Sadly we all saw how that eventually ended.

Just got to this review, and it's pure greatness. Hilarious, obvilusly, but I also think he's got some very good points. I miss being able to take the product somewhat seriously. I enjoy a lot of what AEW is doing, but we'll never get a storyline in the quality of Punk/Cena etc the rate this is going. I wish matches like MJF vs Jungleboy was the norm and not the exception. Less goofy [Poor language removed] and more serious characters and storylines, please.

I've been waiting for that. Looool "I almost called Vince Russo to apologise"

I didn't think about this on sunday when I watched the show, but having them "drown" Matt Hardy for giggles a couple of days after what happened to Shad Gaspard was not very well thought through, was it? I realize it was taped before hand, but it could easily have been edited out. Hardy's gimmick is so bad it would serve the show well cutting it all out, anyways.

Post-DoN Dynamite was pretty good – few good storylines being set up plus FINALLY
FTR!

The Tyson interaction wasn't great but it has worked pretty well seeing as it's being discussed by media in the States and across the globe. There are barely any weekly sports going on and Wrestling is happening so it's a perfect time for shocking celebrity use – be it good or not.

Tbh, didn't even make the connection between the two because it's been Hardy's gimmick for years. There's also no need for faux outrage because of it, because it wasn't like they were openly mocking it by using his name or something. An oversight, maybe, but not a direct parody.

Oh I'm not outraged, and Gaspard was still alive when the show was taped as far as I know, so how could it be a parody?

The timing was just poor and it could easily've come back to bite them in the ass (PR wise), if the right (or wrong) people paid any attention to the show. I think Corny is spot on when he says it should've been edited out. I know for a fact that Jericho was friends with Shad and I know Hardy worked in the company alongside him as well. They might not even have wanted that silly crap to air on tv right after their friend/ex-colleague legit died by drowning.

She almost certainly isn't even aware of the existence of either All Elite Wrestling or Tony Khan. She knew sod all about the wrestling business even back when she was married to Hogan and considering that they've been divorced for over a decade at this point I think its safe to say she knows and cares even less now.

Kahn would of been better just telling her to sod off in the most crude way possible then pretending that she'd even care about such a ban. Its just made him it look like he's scrambling for publicity this way.

Big fan of the Drake Maverick storyline in the cruiserweight championship tournament on NXT after he got released. How well the story has worked is all down to his talent and how good he's at showing believable emotion during his matches.

WWE really is one horrible, shameless company.......View attachment 90256

Sorry but totally disagree.. I'm fed up with these rich wrestlers knocking wwe and vince... Zach was making over 400k a year, he owns that pool because of Vince... He should be saying Thank you very much Vince.... Ambrose should be thanking Vince for his big house, his quality of life... Luke harper should be thanking Vince... The Revival should be thanking Vince...

Ungrateful and arrogant the lot of them....i saw Zach pay 5.5k for a Big boss man toy, I mean FFS

No, he owns that pool because Vince McMahon didn't want him working for somebody else and chose to pay him to be a jobber. McMahon didn't give him that money out of kindness, it wasn't charity. None of those guys owe Mcmahon or WWE anything, they did well enough in their career to attract the attention of WWE who brought them in and then squandered their talent.

None of those guys, Ambrose or the Revival or Luke Harper or anyone else owe McMahon or WWE anything. It's a strict business relationship that gets terminated the second WWE wants it to be over.

As for him wasting 5.5k on a Big Boss Man toy, meh it's not my money. He can squander his own money however he likes even if it's the height of cringe.

All that is besides the point really, WWE is perfectly entitled to fire anyone they want. I just find it unbelievably arrogant and, that they'd fire someone but then have the gall to call said person asking to use their pool!

A friend of my brother's recently asked if we wanted to start a wrestling 'podcast' with him, and we said yes for some reason! Been meaning to pimp it on here for weeks but keep forgetting. Episode 5 just came out yesterday. You can check it out below. Apparently it is also available at iTunes etc etc.

The previous 4, amongst some other casts he does (Clone Wars, general nostalga chit-chat) can be found here if anyone's interested:

Not a huge surprise to see all these stories coming out about wrestlers being proper wronguns. Seems to be mainly British wrestlers getting exposed at the moment but will be interesting to see if it spreads to the US.

Seen some calling out Cornette and his wife already. I imagine there must be a lot of dirt on Vince too given the persistent rumours about him over the years.
