Potter's best ever finish at Brighton was 42 goals and 51 points after 3 years at the helm of a stable club with excellent recruitment.

Last season Dyche finished with 40 goals and 40 points after the 8 point deductions at a club without a functioning board and recruitment that is either hindered at best or just plain inept.

I fully understand the Dyche Out calls but if the main motivators for it are lack of goals and long winless runs then Graham Potter doesn't exactly tick the boxes people wanting ticked.
Brighton simply couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net under Potter their striker weren’t good enough

I don’t understand what West Ham are doing. If you want Potter you shouldn’t want him for six months. If you want someone for six months you shouldn’t want Potter.

According to the Times, they doubt he's good enough, but would retain an option to extend those 6 months if he is.

They first spoke to Potter over 6 weeks ago apparently. They've been looking for a manager for 7 weeks.

Now a short term deal offer.

Hardly a ringing endorsement you want from an employer

As a Swede, who remembers Graham Potter’s early endeavors with Östersund, I find that the “can’t get results from a limited squad” argument is not very convincing.

Of course he would have to implement his chosen system in a much shorter time here.
In his early days were Ostersund notably more limited than the clubs around them in the 2/3 tier? Thought their DOF was pulling all kinds of things out of the hat until it all came crashing down?

Either way Superettan and the Premier League are two very different competitions.

He'd be an imbecile to take that.

Not because he should be afraid of proving himself - because it's not exactly a ringing endorsement by his putative employer. If they have that little confidence in him before he even loses a game and hits a tough spell, he should steer well clear.
