I have no problem with not firing Dyche till we have a replacement lined up and ready to go, but is anyone else a little uncomfortable that names are already publicly out there.

Just feels a little wrong to me .

Did you see the West Ham offer to him ? :D 6 months .....& a review.... after they negotiate firing their current manager

I’m amazed at the extent of the damage a relatively short spell in charge of a club in Chelsea that was unmanageable at that time due to the volume of players brought in and the volume needing to be moved on but who were still there - good luck creating team spirit on that training ground! - has done to an otherwise excellent managerial career.

His achievements at Ostersund were Brian Clough level and at Brighton he did the hardest thing of all (albeit at a very well run club) - turned a club that shouldn’t even be in the Prem into one that never ever even thinks of relegation anymore.

Compare that to a chancer like De Zerbi who took them from 4th to 11th, declared himself a great success, then went to manage in a massively inferior league instead. Vincent Kompany level managerial overachievement there.

Wouldnt be my No 1 choice but I dont really know who i want. I will say most people turned their noses at Eddie Howe(including me) when he was linked. I will fully support him if he comes in. Who ever comes in needs a lot of support and the the struture of the club sorted.

I went with no, not because I don't rate him as a coach. It's just that if he couldn't handle the fans at Brighton getting on his back, how would he cope with the Goodison crowd after a couple of poor performances?

The poll needs an additional option for having him over Dyche, but not as a first choice manager. I have voted yes, although I don't think he's a perfect fit for us.

I'd be open to the notion of him taking over as he actually seems multi faceted and balanced with his approach to football , seems instill technical competence in the players who are able make cohesive attacks while generally being sturdy at the back, also develops players. I'd honestly prefer someone different like an established manager in a different league looking for a new project rather than the usual suspects everyone gets linked with, it always makes the football world so small when we conduct a search for a manager like only 3 exist as a possibility would like us to be more creative with our selection

Potter spent £100m to take Brighton from 40 points under Chris Hughton to 41 in his first season and 41 again in his second, finishing 16th.

His last season at Brighton, he earned 3 more than Dyche did last season.

Never really understood the hype.

In conclusion, if Brighton fans were causing him to snap, the Park End would have him in tears before the season was out.

I think there’s better suited options out there and we probably need another crisis manager to drag us out of the hole that Dyche has left us in. However, if it’s a simple choice, Potter or Dyche, then yes. Without hesitation.
Why hire another crisis manager on a long term contract tho. No crisis manager is taking 6 months in my opinion.
