…..whoever comes in needs a proven record of;

Getting results with mediocre footballers; then
Building an effectively performing football team.

No idea if that applies to Potter at Brighton.

I have no problem with not firing Dyche till we have a replacement lined up and ready to go, but is anyone else a little uncomfortable that names are already publicly out there.

Just feels a little wrong to me .
No, I hope at the press conference they ask
Him about new Managers being lined up,
He’s had it easy for 2 years

I would say no I think he is a slow burner.

I would deffo back him but me personally think his style would be suited better to maybe someone like Brentford Fulham who are comfortable right now and he could maybe get them to the next level.

If it means Dyche getting fired to Jupiter then 1000000% yes get him in

Depends, if the long term view is to go down the Ashworth route then it might be worth a shot as they clearly worked well together previously, not my first choice though. We need to do something though as we are struggling for ideas and need a boost atm.

Whoever comes in will need backing in the transfer market, but with the players we have Potter will need more than most just to steady the ship, do we have the cash?

The consensus is this team is massively underperforming and it's just Sean Dyche that's got us sat 16th.

If that's correct, we'll be sound no matter who comes in.

Why hire another crisis manager on a long term contract tho. No crisis manager is taking 6 months in my opinion.

Sadly we’re stuck between a rock and a hard place with it thanks to the current incumbent. One thing we can’t do, is dither and allow him to waste any more football matches. We need the leadership to step up and show some actual leadership, a decision needs to be made what direction we’re going in and it needs to be made pronto.

It's been mentioned on here TFG''s preference is to keep Dyche until the end of the season as the manager they want is currently in a job. Potter isn't currently in a job but that doesn't mean the bit on here about TFG's preference isn't also just having something to say.

For Potter if it really is between us and West Ham then it's West Ham and although I would like to see Dyche gone today I'm not sure Potter is the right one to replace him but who knows? Our squad isn't that bad, it's the things Dyche is making them do that makes them look bad and gives him an out for his own tactical failings. If the players currently at Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Villa, Newcastle... were forced to play the way we do they would be in the same position we are, now.

Football has moved on. Dyche hasn't and I don't think Potter has enough time left this season to keep us up.

I went with no, not because I don't rate him as a coach. It's just that if he couldn't handle the fans at Brighton getting on his back, how would he cope with the Goodison crowd after a couple of poor performances?
What couldn’t he handle at Brighton 🤣🤣
They booed a 0-0 when they were mid table and he said something like they need to
Have a word With themselves, they’d spent the majority of the previous 30 years in
The lower leagues and he had them mid table in the prem.
he most likely thought after that
I will be off as soon as a bigger club comes along, not I can’t handle the pressure get me back to Sweden

I think long term it could be a good appointment. Thelwell would need to go to as don’t trust him buying players.

In short term we probably need 6 wins which should be very doable with a competent coach which Potter is.
C’mon mate. How can you not trust him to buy players when he’s been on the phone to clubs trying to buy players for 25m and offering 2m upfront. He’s had his hands tied more than any manager we have had. And he’s managed to still get faces through the door and some decent money for players too.

….i genuinely have no idea on who the Manager should be, lots down to right man, right place, right time.

Moyes would be my only suggestion given he’ll know how bad the squad is, he can identify a player, he knows the club and he can organise a team. Less short-term risk.

Would not be adverse to that right now, but short term deal only, we are in a mess. Potter would die of fright after he saw are only form of attack comes from Jordan Pickfords boot !

100% yes. But needs time to overhaul a lot of the squad.
I could imagine him on day one looking at doucoure and marking him down for the exit straight away.
Id be tempted to vote no simply beccause we are half way through the season and his style wont suit many of the players here. But then i dont know if a few might be better away from Dyche.
Ndiaye would love him.

Potter spent £100m to take Brighton from 40 points under Chris Hughton to 41 in his first season and 41 again in his second, finishing 16th.

His last season at Brighton, he earned 3 more than Dyche did last season.

Never really understood the hype.

In conclusion, if Brighton fans were causing him to snap, the Park End would have him in tears before the season was out.
The idea that the Goodison crowd, and the Park End in particular, is some sort of Curva Sud style bearpit full of intimidating ultras is the biggest myth out there. It's just some old men booing.
