Dyche more or less admitted it in the press conference yesterday mate. We were 100% in for potter

Yeah, hes gone to west ham.

Our new owners have lost out on their top target to a club that bans their DoF from the trainning ground and the owners constantly involved themselves in decisions that have nothing to do with them...And we pay more money then.

Dyche till the end of the season it is

ha ha you don’t even know he was our top target

chill

think the bobble was saying something about their main target was still in a job and they preferred to wait till the summer to make their move, joining the obvious dots leads to Jose. The only thing is that he left on fairly sour terms throwing his toys out the pram in true Mourinho style calling them "Clueless" so it might be a long shot although he is expected to leave Turkey in the summer. He does hate the RS though and he would make it his mission to put one over on former clubs like Spurs and Utd but imo it would be one of those things that is either a dream for a couple of seasons or a complete disaster.
I don't even think it would be that to be honest, I think Mourinho is yesterday's man and not used to doing this type of job but is obviously still a decent manager. I think he'd probably just come in and be a bit 'meh' to be honest, but with all the stupid histrionics and astronomical wages that come with it.

I'll be honest, if he chooses west ham over his then he's not the right man for the job (imo) as he's already shown crap judgement. West Ham I think are very much a club in the direction downwards and I think weirdly as a long term project we are gonna be an upwards trajectory

exactly this - our potential

pees all over west ham’s

It hasn't been widely reported enough for them to deny it, that's my point. They don't deny every clickbait rumour in the tabloids etc do they, and that's all this has been. There haven't been proper articles written about us trying to appoint him and what contracts we've offered him and all that like there were from the West Ham end, which suggests to me that they were the only ones actively trying to get him and any interest from us was more general and never concrete. Obviously I'm not on the board, I don't know any of this for certain, but I have not seen one media piece from a decent source which gives any kind of indication at all that Graham Potter was our first choice for manager and knocked us back. Obviously if you want to believe that Baz and Ped know the inner workings of the club and that the current manager would know exactly who we were trying to replace him with (and be allowed to comment on it in a press conference) then you're welcome to.

Im sorry click bait?

The biggest football news outlet in this country has been running hourly stories about it.

The stories in the press that you put so much faith into on west hams side of things have been talking about us in those articles.

This is big enough that if it wasnt true the club and dyche would deny it. You just sound like youve got your head in the sand tbh

TFG will have other managers

who gives a turd about potter

What i want to know is who we go for next, surely you cant keep dyche after this.

Its got to be someone with the profile of potter hasnt it.

Or are we doing that scatter gun just hire anyone approach it could be sarri, it could be moyes, it could be fonseca, it could be southgate, it could be galtia, it could be Mourinho who knows all managers with a complete differen style of play but were after the lot

We were defo in for him mate.

Think it gives us a glimpse of the type of manager we are after, someone who can transition from a direct style of play to a progressive style of play like Potter did at Brighton and someone who will develop a "project" from the ground up.

As for Dyche, i think there are losses now either way - i think his positions now untenable after the Potter stuff - but who now is available to come in and what terms and how much do we have to deviate from the above to get them - the pool isnt great and we arent attractive right now frankly.

That sounds more pleasant than where you've got yours to be fair.

I don't get where the potter was our top target came from to be honest with you. I'm hoping we swerved a bullet in the long term. He's a cry A**e manager he'd be on the sick bench with the rest after a couple of half time boos. It'll be other backroom staff to see us.over the line.

I like him to be fair and think hed do a good job.

I was watching a interview where he was talking about him talking honestly about how he felt in press conferences and it being taken out of context. Said he wouldn't do it again.

It reminds me of when Baines of handedly said he gets a bit homesick when hes away from Liverpool. Then all of a sudden everyone was saying he get super homesick and he cant play after hes traveled because hes a nervous wreck if hes away from Liverpool for longer then 2 days. That cost him a world cup spot and was all rubbish, he just misses Liverpool a bit when hes away
