If hes not number 1 then why are we going after him?

I doubt we have to be honest, I reckon it’s paper talk. I doubt we would ever think he would come here, his stock is still high enough to go to a better team.

We're we ever actually in for Potter?
That’s the point we just don’t know . we might have been in for him , he might have been the top target , we might have considered him for the shortlist or we might not . Ultimately we don’t know , chatting or speculating about it is fine but becoming angry that we’ve “lost out on our number one target ‘ with no evidence we’ve either lost out or he was or number one target all seems a bit of a waste of energy .

I don't see how Dyches position is untenable.

He has 5 months remaining on his deal. Like he said yesterday he's not stupid enough to think we'll wait until his contract expires and then start sounding people out. It's right that TFG have hopefully sounded a few people out, ideally (for them from a financial point of view ) I'm sure based on Dyche seeing out his contract.

If Dyche thought they'd taken the absolute piss, the floor was all his yesterday to resign with a bit of dignity.

He's not getting results, TFG considering their options. It's no big deal at all and is far better than sacking Dyche then drawing up a list.

I'm not even bothered if TFG have been in discussions for months on end with Potter with a view to taking over end of season. If West Ham have nabbed him well that's because they're a more attractive outfit currently because we've been a mess.

The only reason Dyches position should be untenable is because of results and performances, not due to us having ownership actually doing some planning in advance.

Pragmatically within any management structure if your employer has publicly sounded out your replacement, then internally you loose authority from those you manage- it makes it impossible to put boundaries down and hold others to account and why should the players really listen to him now - he could be gone next week and the decision makers are moving that way, the game is up. Certainly think both the Potter stuff and the tone of his press conference yesterday, indicates all of that and a man who knows the only game in town now is staying professional until he gets his compo.

His position is untenable in my opinion now mate.

Love how the Dyche debate goes full circle, this week im saying he has to go now and others saying saying ah sure he's ok to stay!

We / nobody knows their target. It's just guess work, speculation at best. 2 & 2 = 22.

I think TFG work their own way I don't like the way they've left Dyche in charge but "I can see a better time, when all our dreams come true"...

No we wouldn't. We need someone to actually coach these players, unlike the current joker.

A bit of coaching and tactical nous and we stay up easily. Then we have a summer to start recruiting players better suited to the new manager's system. OR we could hire another dinosaur and be in the same situation in a couple of years' time. Need to stop being timid and try and progress.
If I really felt this to be the way up I'd have Potter in a heart beat. His style of play is attractive but he like Ange isn't the most versatile, good luck trying to implement his system with our current personnel. Absolute muck and that's putting it mildly.

Looks like West Ham have won the race anyway

I'll be honest, if he chooses west ham over his then he's not the right man for the job (imo) as he's already shown crap judgement. West Ham I think are very much a club in the direction downwards and I think weirdly as a long term project we are gonna be an upwards trajectory
Wow. Not sure how you reach that conclusion.

They have a far better squad.

Better recent league finishes.

No PSR problems .

I think we are all guilty of looking at us with blue tinted glasses.
But to managers are we that much of an enticing prospect. Yes you will get paid. But we are hampered with spending, been close to relegation last few seasons, the owners have a record of firing managers , I don't see a new stadium as a big draw either to a manager.
I don't think we should be too shocked when managers swerve us been honest. From the outside it's not that attractive.

looks like it's a done deal with wham.

West Ham have cancelled a planned news conference with head coach Julen Lopetegui, with the Spaniard's future at the club looking increasingly uncertain.

The 58-year-old was due to speak to the media on Wednesday, before the FA Cup third-round tie with Aston Villa on Friday. However, he did take training with the players in the morning.

It comes amid expectation Lopetegui will be sacked - with the Hammers holding talks with former Brighton and Chelsea boss Graham Potter over replacing him, initially on a short-term deal.

Former AC Milan boss Paulo Fonseca and ex-Paris St-Germain manager Christophe Galtier, now a coach in Qatar, have both been spoken to by West Ham.

However the belief from both camps is Potter will get the job.

Why?

I love Mourinho but why would he be the top target for owners that sacked him less then 12 months ago. Then he publicly insulted TFG saying they dont have a clue about football.

Also why would we have to wait to get Mourinho hes in Turkey And not even winning the league
he would raise our profile more than potter, I do have my doubts about TFG, though
