Greatest Gigs

I used to keep ticket stubs as a way of remembering what I'd been to, but have completely lost track since e-tickets became the norm.

But off the top of my head, some that really stand out are: Echo and the Bunnymen (Edinburgh), John Cale (Edinburgh), Manic St Preachers (Glasgow), Marillion (St Andrews), Alkaline Trio (Paris), The Lawrence Arms (Chicago), Rise Against (London), Bowie (London), Ghost (London), and NIN (London).

I swear I've never enjoyed gigs as much as soon people do. I mean, I like them, and i've been to a fair few but I don't quite seem to get the experience that some others get. i probably look back at/remember club nights/DJ's more than gigs.

some good ones probably were:

Portishead
The Horrors (very early on)
MBV
Slowdive with Low
Kraftwerk
Big Thief
NIN
LCD soundsystem
Klaxons (very early on)
Placebo
Jesus and the Mary Chain
Swans
Chromatics
Steve Reich
Roy Ayers

I can imagine gigs were better pre 2000

Wishbone Ash were good at the Royal Court back in the late 70’s
Fleetwood Mac at Maine Rd, about 87 I think
Paul Simon, the Graceland tour at the NEC
but Springsteen at Murrayfield tops everything - and we met the band, pic of Mrs L with Stevie van Zandt below! Already posted in another thread but still buzzin’
got Blur coming up at Wembley, then Red Hot Chili Peppers at Hampden Park in July, so looking forward to them.

Ha, I was at this, think it was the very last gig(s) I went to before moving down south. Was a great weekend.
It was amazing, I was 14/15 RATM, cypress hill and the levellers were all at the absolute peak of their powers. Once in a lifetime festival that, Cyoreas Hill missed their plane, arrived late and did a duet with RATM of A to the K. Unbelievable.
