Green light for the Super League?

Why do people still think this means leaving the PL? The ruling is clear it's to set up competition to UEFA tourneys IE alternatives to Champions League / Europa / Conference.

How the PL react to it is another matter entirely.

It makes sense that the governing body doesn’t run the competition though.

It’s a conflict of interest. The football league is a prime example ofwhere the separation works so well.

uefa only want to govern it so they can make huge amounts of money for themselves.

jumpers for goal posts eh?

As others have said, this isn't a breakaway European Super League as far as I understand it.

It will be another rigged competition set up to help certain clubs prosper alongside them playing in their domestic leagues. Devalues the PL further and if Everton and others accept this then it may be time to make a proper stand against the way Football has gone. Would need a unified approach from the fans of all the clubs not chosen.

Pretty sure that the way the ESL was constituted would have been illegal too though.
my understanding is that the most likely out come of this is that we will get trans association leagues. A Belgian Dutch French league. A Spanish Portuguese Italian league for example. They will be set up to try to challenge the financial dominance of the premier league

It's going to end up like Basketball. The Euroleague has licenced clubs with 3-4 qualifying as well.
The others in official but essentially devalued competitions. So the likes of the conference league and Europa League clubs in the official champions league.
Interesting if they set up a second division as well.
