Groucho's Fact Hunt

Are you sure about that?

Please don't turn this thread into one of those "haha you just looked silly, trying to swallow with your mouth open" things.

Which I did.
I work in the medical field and we do continuing education sessions each week, this week was with a Speech and Language Therapist
She confirmed that to swallow (food, tablets etc) you must close your mouth and that it will happen as a reflex
You can of course go through a swallowing type motion with an open mouth but you'd choke if there was any food etc involved
Dont try that at home !

I also work in the medical field, and have just swallowed a mouthful of garlic bread pizza with an open mouth.

I've got a big gob, like.

Sorry.

maybe youre a medical miracle?
I cant do it at all!
Dont plan to test it either

Can confirm I just nearly drowned trying to swallow my tea with my mouth open.

Just swallowed a bite of noodles with mouth open. Not that it is pleasant, mind.
I am just trying to kill you all in a weird mass murder plan :)
I appear to be immune to your plan. Muhahaha etc.

I'm weird though, I admit.

Can we hunt facts again now please?
