While best known for his abstract breakthroughs in the world of physics, Albert Einstein was granted a patent for a type of refrigerator on November 11, 1930.
Einstein and his former student Leo Szilard designed the fridge to have no moving parts and could be powered simply with a heat source.
The fridge was never commercially developed, thanks to part to Nazi persecution of Jewish people in Germany like Einstein and Szilard.
The most promising parts of the patent were bought by Swedish company Electrolux
