Groucho's Fact Hunt

The circumstances leading to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in hostile Sarajevo in 1914, the spark for the First World War, are truly bizarre. Earlier in the day, one of his Austrian military officer bodyguards was shot and injured by Serbian nationalists and so went to hospital. At the end of his meet and greet duties for the day, AFF wanted to visit the hospital where the officer was. In doing so, his driver, not knowing the route took a wrong turn and end up in a narrow street. While trying slowly to reverse and turn round, another armed Serbian nationalist was sat in a coffee shop and saw the royal car virtually at a standstill. He walked out of the coffee shop and shot AFF dead. On such moments, the whole future of the world turned.

Dear lord....

Planets don't twinkle in the night sky like stars do. Stars twinkle because they appear in the night sky as a pinpoint of light, because all of the light is coming from a single point it is very susceptible to interference from airpockets in the Earth's atmosphere. Since planets are much closer they appear as discs in the night sky (more obvious if you look at them through a telescope) meaning the light source is larger than a pinpoint and larger than any airpockets that can distort the light.
