Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

They haven't played a good team yet,if anything their fixtures in the league and cup games have been pretty easy going so far.

Still what has impressed me most though is how Pep has drilled this team so quickly into a pressing energetic team in such a short time, under Pelligrini they hardly pressed and were more a possession team, now they press and counter so quick with quick transitional football, the goals last week against Bournemouth are great examples.

They should win the league though, but i don't think it will be by a big margin as some think.

Could say the same about our start then we come unstuck against Bournemouth of all teams.

I think they will probably dominate the better teams just as much as the weaker teams but up to now that hasn't been tested.

The only team I can see challenging them in a one off game is Liverpool. I think their pace and dynamic forward line along with their pressing will give a Guardiola team nightmares. It's a bit too early to say Liverpool are contenders but in a one off game they would give them a game.
Well it was actually Spurs in the end who forego a target man and went for 3 dynamic forwards and pressed them to death.

I do think this result is a bit artificial since DeByurne and Nolito are missing.

No shots on goal all game today? Impressive.

What does he care? They'll just spend another 200m in the next Summer and everyone will say how great a Manager he is when they win a title.
Absolute con jobs the likes of Pep and Jose. I dare you both to go to a mid table team and build it.
At least Jose has Porto.

He, at least, was a brilliant manager.

Correct mate. Then we get the likes of the annoying runt Conte at Chelski. Just spends 80m in the Summer, loses a few games at the start of the season and tells the Board if they want success at Chelski they need to back him with funds.
Give me a break.
who's the best then if they're no good?

Pep turfed out the likes of Deco and Ronaldinho, brought a not insubstantial amount of academy players through the ranks and utterly dominated Europe with a mostly homegrown team. Jose won the Champions League with Porto and a largely unrated Inter Milan side. These lads get their pick of cash-rich clubs for a reason

So Pep offloaded older players and brought through Spanish youth internationals?

If only we had a conveyor belt of English youth internationals...

Oh wait....

The defence is awful.

The fullbacks are old and not mobile enough to play in a Pep team.

They have spent 124 million on 3 centre backs in Otamendi Stones and Mangela and all 3 are average at best, even with a change of scenery Stones still has the same problems that stifle his game with his concentration and awareness still being very bad.

And the goalkeeper looks hopeless since he went there and he is nothing like he was in the less physical Spanish league.

He only brought through Busquetsand Pedro from the Barca B team, the likes of Xavi Iniesta Puyol Pique Messi were all established in that team and Ronaldinho and Deco were below standards in Rijkaards last 2 seasons,if i'm right the reason they got rid of ronaldinho apart from his unprofessionalism was him a bad influence on a teenage Messi by taking him nightclubbing.

Pep took over a fantastic side in 2008 and only tweaked it by adding Busquets and Pedro, that team also had Henry and Eto'o in their primes.

mate the full english internationals are crap. what sort of standard is that? Means the kids are generally not great either. Because if they were, they would be in the first team, being crap.

It is a paradox you could say.
