Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

I guess he really rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way when he provided a couple of seasons of close to, if not the, greatest football seen in the history of the game. :p

I personally think he's an excellent manager, but even you can't deny he was a petulant tit following the Burnley game surely?

There's a definite contempt for the English game bubbling under the surface there. He actually seems offended that a team like Burnley came to the Etihad and actually tried to win the game

He's got things massively wrong with Bravo, who was a pure vanity signing, and is now getting uppity that people are calling him on it

I still think he'll be successful over here, but I don't see how anyone can deny that he hasn't made a rod for his own back this week with his comments and general prickly demeanour

I don't think he mentioned Burnley in his interview. People are just assuming stuff because of their preconceived notions. I don't really care if he was petulant though, my comment wasn't about that. He is not the best at handling the media. Never has been, even when times were good, so people shouldn't assume his attitude at the weekend is purely about this league being too much for him.

Bravo is a fantastic goalkeeper. For me definitely better than Hart and more suited to Guardiolas style. I've seen him play for Barca many times. I said in a previous post, why are people going so hard on a new foreign signing in their first season in the league?

How can you describe replacing a keeper with a better keeper, and one more suited to your gameplan, as a vanity signing? I can understand some might think Hart is better, but I would imagine the majority of world football fans would have Bravo above him. I fail to see what is odd in that change, and how it is a vanity signing.

Think anyone questioning him in england already is jumping the gun very quickly. Granted he hasn't come in and won the league already by christmas but at the same time it isn't a 2 team league he is in either.

City will back him because they aren't tits, so give him a few years and see what he produces in that time instead. The brazilian lad he has brought in this month already sounds like they have signed their version of Neymar, and probably cutting a few in the team in the summer and buying his versions of them might make a huge difference.

Also take into account Gundogan injured all season, now til next season which he signed as a first choice midfielder. So if Pep comes good then it will be in time, take into account also he is under performing in a league where Chelsea have magically rejuvinated themselves, the kopites are pretending they are title contenders and spurs are showing they might actually be a good team after all.

Not sure about that at all.

Hart from my experience speaking to fans over here in Spain or general foreign fans, and the opinion on him from the media and commentary teams on TV.....before the move.......was always spoken about as overrated and that Man City should have a better keeper if they were looking to reach the top level.

I might be reaching here from what input I have had but I would imagine Bravo performing excellently for Barca and Chile would have him as the higher rated keeper by most fans outside of the Prem League.

I personally always thought the general opinion on Hart even within the Prem league, before all the outcry in the summer, was that he was a good shot stopper but had a higher than normal amount of errors and was very overrated. I never thought of him as much more than another decent keeper, capable of looking very good occasionally but mostly just good.

At the very least I really don't see how the move, on basic footballing terms, could be seen as strange or a vanity signing. It made perfect sense to me, as much as I didn't want him to leave.

As much as I don't want to see it, as after Messi he is my favourite player to watch at the stadium, but I think if Barca continue with this more direct style it might become more of a possibility that Busquets could leave to join Guardiola.

I agree Mikey, I think that he thought it would be a doddle like smashing everyone 6 nil week in week out with Bayern. Difference is, it's not.

Un-Glamorous teams will turn up to frustrate you with filthy tackles, parking the bus, and boring sounding named players slotting cheeky scraggy goals.

Welcome to the Premier League Pep.

What I fail to understand is his unwillingness to change style and structure for when the game calls for it.

There's no adaption to the game as it's played, it's a set tactic and that's it.

I always said Martinez looked up to him, they are a carbon copy in how they both like to play, Martinez is basically a poor mans guardiola.

He's just an arrogant, close-minded man which is ironically what many around Europe view us as being.

He is not the only manager who's had the media picking at him and reacting with glee whenever his side lose, Mourinho has to put up with it for years and the past 18 months will have been hell for him, hence why he occasionally lashes out. Guardiola has gotten used to being worshipped though and doesn't like it that some people don't just accept everything he has to say with no questions.

That interview after Burnley was pure cringe, I wanted to reach through the screen and slap him. It doesn't matter how many trophies you've won, you have no right to behave like a spoilt child just because you don't like the view certain people have of you. If you want it to change then try being a bit more polite and friendly.
