The purpose of the rules was supposed to be to stop a Leeds type situation, that’s not the case for City. Arguably the Hicks and Gillette situation was closers to that scenario.

Nobody is up all night worrying about what might happen to City they just don’t want to compete with them.

The same teams that wanted to ditch all the rules, partner with City and form their own financial Superleague oligopoly are now worried about the rules.

The money from those sales show up in this years accounts. Their purchases are effectively accounted over many years, therefore those sales will show a profit for this year…..
