Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

Won't be here this time next season

It's truly amazing this fella is finally being shown up for what he is, A decent manager given two of the biggest clubs in world football in two leagues that have 2-3 decent sides

They'll stick with him baring a disaster, and will invest. They badly want to reach the top table and have wanted Pep for a while now.

I reckon he'll get at least two seasons to show what he can do. If he doesn't look like he's likely to turn them into true CL contenders after that then I doubt he'd get much more than that.

A lot depends if his way of playing is more successful in Europe than his predecessors . If it is, and they finish top four, they'll stick with him and won't be overly concerned if they're not in the mix for the Premier League title in the meantime.

Well if they are thinking like that beating Barça is a good start

A swallow doesn't make a summer.

He'll need to show that his methods give them a fighting chance of winning the thing, not just getting the odd good result. To be fair, I'd imagine that's what's driving Guardiola too.

Yeah, like a said good start. But they've had similar problems in Europe too, so I doubt this season is going to give them much of an indication either way.

Personally I just want him to give up all this nonsense and come home.

Bayern had started to kill off his style of play when he was at Barcelona when they closed them down quickly and gave them no time. Barca's big weakness was always messing around in defense, they made the same errors against City in the champs league this season. Pep got away with it because they had such gifted players going forwards they could always score more, however he doesn't have that at City and when they are caught out they pay for it. Will be interesting to see what happens with City if they don't make it to the Champions League - without that to entice players in they'll struggle to get a team together that can play the "Pep way". Especially now China has more money to offer.

cant understand him starting bravo today (glad he did like)... willy cabero started against wham in the cup , the game in which they thrashed them 5 nil away and i heard reports that the defence was much more stable with willy in goal, organising them and just generally being more reliable.

It might just be that he's unsuited to the League to be fair, and Pep must shoulder blame on that front

If only Man City had a Premier League winning goalkeeper on their books that he could have played instead...

But a goalkeeper should be able to make saves regardless of what league he's playing in. It's not like he's getting bullied from set pieces, he just can't stop a shot.

He's on a 6-month long run of bad form?

He's utter crap.

havent seen every game at city so i dunno if he has been bad in every one

but dont be dumb. he was one of the highest rated keepers on arrival at City. La Liga champion and twice Copa America champion. He is obviously not utter crap you silly man

half a bad season does not mean a player is utter crap

biased nonsense. ive seen him live I dunno how many times and he is a very good keeper

as Mikeh said, not stopping shots has nothing to do with the league he is in so i dont think its to do with being suited or not. might not be settled at all. im not sure he was really itching to leave but Barça wanted the money when they had another very good and younger keeper lined up.

thing is , once a keeper is shot of confidence it can take an age to get back, and during that time, more mistakes are made. joe hart goes thro these times, the best thing pellegrini did a couple seasons back was bench him for a couple of months. he came back better for it.
