Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

Can that Bravo fella even speak English? The communication between their back line seems all over the place. Their defence and goalie from yesterday consisted of two Frenchman, two South Americans and an Englishman. There's probably a language barrier, hence why they so look so disorganised. Stones's head will be falling off.

Pretty sure they have all learnt "Sorry mate" and "Ooops" by now.

He can certainly be an obsessively driven individual and that can lead to unpleasantness.

But he seems like he was first class with Bradley which tempers my opinion of him a lot.

He seems generally very prickly at the moment but when he was at Bayern doing interviews for German media he always came across as a nice bloke.

No they hadn't, that was Tito Vilanovas Barca.

6 domestic league titles, 3 domestic cups, 2 champions leagues. How many more trophies should have won? lol

Those trophies simply reveal his ability to drive the fastest rig round the track and finish ahead of everyone else.

he has never managed in a situation where several other managers have similarly expensive and gifted squads. That is why he is a novice irrespec tive of how many trophies he won with two vastly gifted squads he did not assemble at massively powerful clubs.

Not sure that is correct, at least in terms of his time at Barcelona where the side he inherited had just finished nearly 20 points behind Real Madrid and he had to get rid of big names (Deco, Ronaldinho etc) in pre-season.

You are right he did get rid of big names and he did win that championship from Madrid...........that is achievement but look at the team he had in his first year......Mids were Xavi, Iniesta and Toure. Up front he had Thierry Henry, Eto'o and the phenomenal Messi. Remember just how bizarrely and fantqastically brilliant he was when he exploded onto the scene.

Iniesta, Xavi, Henry, Messi......not a bad team to start your career with.

to be fair, that is only competing against one team, at a team where you can attract pretty much any player in the world.

It's a really terrible argument tbh. It's easy to say in retrospect that anyone would win stuff with Xavi, Iniesta and Messi, but Pep had a huge part in building their myth. When Pep took over, Xavi was about to be sold to Juventus and iniesta and Messi were nowhere near what would become their best.

Not sure it is a terrible argument. Barcelona have had a style that was there before pep and after and he inherited the team when it was at its peak. It was a phenomenal side playing in a league of their own with madrid. It is fair to say you could have had no manager in charge and just put that team out every week and they would have won the league.

I just watched peps interview after our game and he seems so similar to martinez. He's obsessed with controlling the game and basically says that he deserved to beat us because of the possession stats. He says that against Burnley and palace he was lucky as they didn't control the games. I really don't think he understands the premier league.

Martinez was obsessed with this philosophy but it does not work in the premier league. The premier league is all about effective and efficient football. That's proven if you look at the winners since its inception.

Martinez generally thought his second season at everton showed better stats from the matches that he would like to see from his team than the first season. Yet his points were about 25 less. This philosophy is hugely flawed in the premier league.
