Also needs to be said that the ref isn't entirely to blame, it was a quick breakaway and when the ball was put through to Sterling the ref was on the halfway line so doubt he could see it from his angle. Blame has to be on the assistant who should have seen it and if he didn't then he needs glasses.Just seen that push on Sterling.
Blindingly obvious penalty perhaps not given because the kid didn't go to ground.
Some credence in what Ruud said, in that its cases like that that encourage players to chuck themselves to ground at the slightest contact.
Nar, I jest, He's utter quality, Just look at the outstanding football he's producing in this country
It's some silky stuff tbf, he's been a bit unlucky imo
Top notch, Grade A, Out of this world football
It's the least we expected to be honest seeing as he's the greatest club manager in the game
I partly agree with you. Wouldn't say Leicester are exactly a template for the modern game. Without taking any credit away it was a one off Obviously possession isn't everything but in essence possession football is the best form of defence. If the other team hasn't got the ball they can't score. In general, teams who dominate possession are the ones who finish in the highest places. And I would hazrd a guess that has always been the case and nothing to do with the modern game.Bringing this forward to the week-end games, Citeh had more possession, but couldn't beat Spurs (notwithstanding the non-award of a penalty to them, but Citeh's first was 'handball'). Equally, the RS had far more possession than Swansea, but were less potent in front of goal. These Managers like Guardiola, Klopp & Martinez need to wake up to the fact that 1) the modern game is NOT all about possession (a lot of possession is tippy-tapping in their own half); 2) statistics PROVE nothing in terms of results; 3) defending is every bit a part of the game as possession & attacking, 4) Leicester City were the template for the modern game last season, with their possession sometimes being under 30%, yet they were lethal in front of goal.
Conte at Chelsea has got it right at the moment with not giving possession away cheaply allied to quality players who can attack quickly, pass accurately, and score regularly.
I think he will be if he's given time.I think he deserves credit for his previous credentials, but I don't think they make him a particularly great manager. He's good, but not great.
I think City brought him in with the expectation of him changing/winning things immediately, because that's what he was able to do at his previous clubs. The problem there being his previous clubs were in FAR less competitive leagues and he inherited better players.
I don't think he will be a success at Man City.
One of the best to be sure. It's a privilege to have such a deep thinker in the league

The bit in bold I defo agree with. Stats should concentrate more on possession in the final third to give a truer perspective of who's been the better team.
i really hope you forgot to add the sacasm font to this post prev.
I'm not being sarcastic. That team needs to be rebuilt, lot of 30+ lads who are past their best, the hunger isn't there. Pep will sort them out
