He'll take the plaudits for his goal - obviously - but he was superb yesterday. He was involved in all of our chances, and the link up play with Bernard was brilliant at times.

4 shots on goal, 3 on target, 4 key passes - the most of any player on the pitch yet again in all three categories.

Those are the stats that count for his position.

He's struggled at times since he has signed, probably down to the whole mess the club has been in since, but he's a hard player to criticise because whether he is playing well or not he always gives 100%. He's scored some vital goals but not consistently. He has stepped up recently and is starting to pay back his fee. Keep it up Gylfi.

Absolutely, more than any other player Gylfi benefitted from the system we played yesterday. Getting to be the fulcrum for three very mobile and willing forwards really brought the best out of him imo.

Encouraging that he’s strung back to back good games together. That goal is quite pleasing on the eye to put it mildly.

The lovely little disguised pass to Bernard on the first half too. Both of them are playing some proper passes atm which cut through teams.

Slated him plenty since he joined - plenty of the criticism is valid and withstanding but he has played at an improved level recently.

His goal was phenomenal but his overall performance, until they went down to 10 men, was still lacking. At 10 men, he was able to create a bit more room for himself which obviously helps and he looked much more comfortable.

Now, I would still like to see him do a lot more. I’m talking in terms of standing up and being counted each and every week and being able to run a game when needed.

Bernard, Richarlison and to a lesser extent, Walcott, will be able to take that load away from him - hopefully Gomes too, I believe he will - but, he is still the main man in there and has to live up to that bulling.

The goals are good. The performances are getting there. Plaudits go to Marco for finally getting that technically sound player out there.

Nice to see him getting some good performances in, hopefully he'll get back to the type of player who can run the team from the heart! With Richi and Bernard playing off him we'd be an entertaining watch

C mate, have you watched the game back?

He was really good in the first half. Involved in every attack we had and him and Bernard ripped them a new one down that left side.

First 20 mins or so of the second half, I'm with you. He got lost a bit and didn't get back into the game until the red.

I have P.

The first half belonged to Bernard as he ripped them. Sigurdsson just didn't seem to have the impact he did, to me anyway, in the first half as he did in the latter stages of the second after the Morgan sedning off.

That's my only continuing slight on him. Those periods where he really runs a game, I want to see more of.

Best player in each of our 3 wins. I've been a harsh judge, expecting him to be a set piece specialist only. He is clearly judged by his price tag, which as we all know and agree isn't his fault.

Quality, quality player.

Now that he has scored this worldy I fully expect him to bag a free kick against Palace. (After previously stating we should take them off him)

Do it Gylfi
