The absolute nonsense in here. Even after another match winning goal.

Whatever lads. If you can't be convinced you're talking truffle now you never will be.

"Midfielders have to be involved the entire game" is quite possibly the weirdest and incorrect thing I've read in ages.

Eriksen.
Alli.
Ozil.
Pogba.
Hazard.
David Silva.
Sane.
Sterling.

All match winners, worth their weight in points yet can for large parts just drift through games, keeping it simple before scoring or assisting in fantastic fashion.

Gylfi has to continue a steady flow of output in relation to goals and assists. 10 goals would be fantastic.

But have to be anymore "involved" than he is for 90mins all game, every game?

Naive. Misjudged. A little bit stupid.

Pick any of the above.

You're having a mare if you don't think Eriksen and Silva are involved with the majority of the game.

What midfield passengers are successful in world togger? Zero.

You're making it even worse for yourself by now seemingly making up sentences that have never been typed.
"Midfielder passengers" hasn't ever been uttered.
Playmakers, players with creativity, typically do not dominate games because there isn't the space to do it. When they do, we as fans and the media go bonkers because it's not an every week occurance.
Instead, in nearly all occasions, you'll see flashes of brilliance.
Utter naivity on your part. As is par for the course.

Whilst I agree with the concept and it's correct for the ozils and pogbas etc but the likes of hazard and David Silva it doesn't apply to because literally everything good about city and Chelsea to through them 2

I see what you're saying but even still, David Silva today had a relatively quiet game. He kept things ticking and made sure he connected the game. He didn't do anything more than that. And that's fine.
And Hazard this season, yep. What about last season? Considered to be quiet for alot of games with flashes of unreal brilliance. The reason we are now talking about his as potentially the best player in the league is because he's destroying opposition almost single handedly. It's not the norm, even for the elite players.

I think 'being involved in the entire game' is fair, and means different things for different midfielders. For Gylfi, if its simple stuff, like being available, being in the right position, trying things, then it's really good, because then he's keeping the defenders on their toes, and the opposition nervous that he might do something. It may be sometimes that he is man marked or cut out of the game by opposition, or things just aren't working out, so he might seem quiet. but then if he creates space, or resorts to simple passes to keep the attacks going. I agree, from someone like Gylfi, a really influential games means maybe 3/4 killer passes, and 1/2 realistic shots - per game, 1 of which might work out, that's realistic, but also very influential.
