2018/19 Gylfi Sigurdsson

He’d never get into the Man City squad because he’s not good enough. And he was never a good player to start with, he’s a massively overrated inconsistent player whose entire career is solely based on stats rather than what he offers to the team

He has a list of what he can’t do rather than what he can. The entire team needs to be built for him, so much so even silva has changed his plans for Everton to accommodate him

lol, I didn't say he would get in the team, of course he wouldn't,they are one of the best squads inthe world, but if he was in the team he would be a very good player, back to his best which is exactly what the stats you elude to prove.

How you can discount him as a "player whose entire career is solely based on stats rather than what he offers to the team" is laughable. It is exactly what he offers yet you think it is a bad thing!!!

THis is what he is capable of when playing well...but yeh, you can ignore that as it does not fit your waffle.

As Chris said, he needs an entire team built around him perfectly for him to get anywhere near those stats.

He had it at Swansea - counter attacking, swift possession football with a strong number nine, playing against opposition happy to attack them and leave gaps.

He didn't have it at Spurs, was terrible and shipped out as a result. He hasn't had it at Everton, with the same results.

The evidence suggests he's a big fish/little pond flair player who needs the perfect conditions to succeed with minimal pressure on his shoulders.

We'd have a different playmaker in and probably be better off for it overall.

Who?

Bernard has 1 goal, three assists. Lookman two assists. Walcott 4 goals 2 assists.

Brands himself has said he likes technical players like Sigurdsson, so it's not out of the question to say he'd be a favourite to stay...

The thing is, your set piece stats there mean absolutely nothing because we’ve literally seen in real life with our own eyes that he can’t take them.

He’s a spreadsheet nerd’s wet dream. In years to come people will look perplexed at WhoScored, scratching their heads wondering why such a world beater only played for Swansea and Everton.

He's a good player.

He's been playing badly, but no worse than the players around him, recently.

Honestly fed up of fans saying we should punt our top scorers. Served us well hasn't it?

He can definitely improve. But he's one of the only players in our squad with any ability to consistently create/score - which is what he does.

The irony is literally all of our players are better on the counter.

No team he ever plays for can be anything other than an average mid table team. Because he can only play well with a very specific set up around him, and then with that he is not good enough himself to lift that side above a certain level. We are not going to improve while he’s in the side, doesn’t matter who we buy. There’s a reason he’s 29 and never had a big club interested in him ever.

If they are scored in draws they are helping.
And he has scored important goals in wins too..
When are lookman, gomes, gana, Bernard, davies goin to chip in with an important goal.

Gana does a job stopping the opposition. Many of the greats in his position didn’t score goals.
Sigurdsson is holding a position that presents chances.
Lookman has only just started getting a game & is being played wide.
When Lookman/Bernard get the ball, they draw defenders before passing it.

Sigurdsson style is more akin to Pass the Parcel at the ISIS xmas party.

That is point the point I was making though, he is far from crap just playing in the wrong system

Great job showing what he HASN'T done playing for Everton. How about showing us what he's done for 2017/2018?

Well he obviously can, you’ve read it your self. It’s not just set pieces either obviously
