People who bang on about his fee not mattering are missing a very important point. His fee is the reason he will have to start every single game he’s available for regardless of who the manager is and what other players we bring in. So we’ve got another 2 and a half years at least of watching a disjointed mess of an attacking side with players shoehorned into positions that don’t benefit them, in order to accommodate him.

I reckon subconsciously they know the amount does matter ( they laugh at what other teams pay for players, and imagine if Sigurdsson had signed for the RS for what we paid!) and that's why they are so defensive of him, trying to justify the fee with stats etc.

He played a very simple ball for an assist yesterday, and strolled round the pitch for 94 mins, yet he supposedly had a good game. Against Southampton he scored in the dying minutes, and did zilch all else for the other 90 mins (like everyone else) As I said above, yesterday, along with everyone else he was gash, and it's been that way for a fair few games now.

Bit of a problem. he looks our main choice to score at the minute but he is going missing for very large parts of the game. I dont blame the player. this manger is completely out of his depth.
