Well it’s not unfortunate is it, because him having a very good season is very good for Everton, the team we support.
 
Sigurdsson is capable of 12-15 goals in a full season, we need that sort of contribution and it’s what excites me most. Play him at 10 and he will deliver. Should play a pivotal part this year.
 

Again, most players' harshest internet critics can almost always be seen to have been critical of the fee paid for them in the first place. Lukaku, Bolasie, pretty much any player we've paid a big fee for. If Richarlison's form falls off a cliff, they'll come out of the woodwork in that thread too.

It's no exception here, plainly.

Theres plenty of room for everyone to play. Its not a matter of their being 1 starting 11 for the entire season. You can rotate 7 players in 5 spots, and they each get 33 games on average. Thats plenty to keep everyone happy. Siggy can play where he is now, drop in further, or move out wide if need be on certain matches. Gomes is the least likely to rotate, but hes also only a loanee. Bernard can play across several positions.

And there WILL be injuries. Finally we have some depth where we go "its a shame this very talented player cant fit in our 11".

Indeed, not too mention the tactical freedom that Silva will be able to utilise depending on who we play, not one player is the same as another.
