Hes getting on now. He must be what 30? I say its time for a young lad to take his place. He has not given much from when he sign for us.

With a fit Bernard and Gomes Eggs, do you see Sigurdsson still fitting into a Silva set - up?

..erm, good question. I think it could be a different answer with a dynamic CF, but with what we’ve got available I think Sigurdsson will still have plenty of game time. Bernard’s goal scoring record isn’t great, but you can seem him unlocking defences and releasing Walcott and Richarlison. If we had a real CF threat, I could see Bernard being a preference.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Gomes and see him as more of a threat to Schneiderlin. If he can get into a tempo with a run of games and if he can start to enjoy his football I think he could make a big difference. Injuries are a concern, but Silva says his no6 plays a vital role because they ‘dictate the pace of play’. Plenty of ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’, but he could be the main man if things fall right.

Some interesting points there.

Siggy definitely has a role in this team. Dropping deeper to sit alongside Gana. It’s a perfect and natura fit.
Let Gana does what he’s good at, leave the passing to siggy. At the same time we benefit from the excellent pressing they both provide.

Siggy works best with loads of players running in open space in front of him, that’s when his passing ability really shines.
Put him in a number 10 role, the option to pass diminish and his game is extremely limited.

Drop him deeper for the benefit of the whole team defensively and offensively. Bernard will fill the number 10.

..interesting, but I think he can be so progressive in the top third with the positions he takes up.

It is time to move Sigurdsson into central midfield next to Gueye or Schneiderlin now.

He is more productive and more energetic then Davies.

He will strive on natural wingers and running into late runs from the edge of the box.

We have the options ahead of him in Richardson, Walcott, Bernard and Lookman but we crave a playmaker in the middle for an age now, he is the answer.
Then Davies what?

All true.

The exception is with a Lozano who comes from Mexico of course and would generate large shirt sales BUT wouldnt cover his costs though could put the club on the global map -- which Mina and Richarlison may be doing.

A bit like Tosun in Turkey...

So we wouldnt see direct benefits, but we would be seeing exposure for the club.

Problem is in places like Mexico , people don’t earn any money and can really afford 65 pound Everton shirts. I mean I would love a Lozano , and it would fill me with joy to see cartels running around in their full kits and a mass of Everton shirts trying to climb “trumps wall” but I don’t think it’s goimg to happen

Per capita income in Mexico is slightly higher than Brazil and just a bit below Turkey.
