I can see this being a way for the Swansea board to save face, much like last summer when they claimed Williams wasn't for sale and then lied about the price they got. That said I reckon it will end up being £40 plus addons.

I just can't get my head around Gylfi Sigurdsson being by far our record transfer if this comes off. We would have to buy another player for a bit more so least I can spell our most expensive player ever.

Yes but our spending is huge compared to the like in Burnley and Swansea and our net spend might be something like £50m after signing Siguardsson and a target man.

Sure £50m would buy probably better players, but would they want to play here?
