As I said earlier, we could buy 5 players for 50m, but they would all be a major risk.

With Iceland you know what your getting, I agreed the other day, anything over 30m and we should walk away, but honestly, if the manager wants him, we should just pay what it costs, the same thing I said in Jan when United demanded the fee for Morgan.

Pay the money the players cost.

Thing is with Barkley is that he won't sign a new contract and that's like saying 'I'm holding out for a better offer' so I'm not talking him down I just want players who want to be at Everton.

From the outside he seems to want to go so we plan without him unless your heard he gonna sign

Barkley was superb in the 2nd half of the season. Garbage for most of the first but then who wasn't? Probably just Gueye tbh

I still didn't agree with repaying there transfer fee for Morgan.

But even City etc baulk at fees when they're ridiculous. And that's for top drawer players.

Just because we can, doesn't mean we should. Bolasie for £30million for eg.

Whether a player wants to stay or leave a club means nothing in regards to their ability. People are saying Sigurrdson is definitively a better player than Ross, which IMO isn't true, regardless of which one wants to be here

Ross is good at us and he'll be good away from us

It should also be remembered how far away we were coming from, that often means paying over the odds.

If Koeman thinks we should spend 50 million on him then he needs to be drug tested

Well thats the problem we will face now, we demanded 50m for Stones, we got 47m, we demanded 100m for Rom, we got 100m, we have demanded 50m for Ross.

Its not up to you or me anyway, its up to the Board and the manager, if the manager says "I want him, whatever the cost", we will pay it.

Why? Why are you happy to spend 30m on him, yet you think 50m is too much? What factor does the extra 20m make to you, as a fan? It is of course my way of saying "its not your money", but honestly, can somebody answer this simple question, why does paying an extra 20m matter?

So, using that logic, £60m, £65m...?

I like the player, but just cos we have a few bob, senseless to waste "only £20m". We can only spend it once.
