With Baines in, Baines simply won't get up the pitch, so you NEED to play a true winger to occupy the wide spaces out left. So what does Unsworth do? Puts Gylfi left so he is forced to play wide. Just unbelievably stupid. This is actually why I DON'T want a manager familiar with this squad and the EPL too much. They might still think Baines can play.
With two wing backs and 3 CBs, our wide players can be more aggressive and Sigurdsson can play a bit more centrally.
But we still have no idea what we are doing. None. Southampton will get their wide players behind JonJoe and Lennon and at a minimum, win a couple corners and score of a set piece. We have literally no one to defend VVD and Hoedt or anyone else they put in the middle off corners.
