He had a serious injury, that's all that happened. Before it, his output was fantastic and he comfortably eclipsed Sigurdsson.

Sure, he's probably finished now due to a poor career move and a serious injury, but the point being made is that he was provably a better player than Sigurdsson over the last few years.

I want Sigurdsson to do well here, but if he does it means we build a side around him and, in my view, there's a cap on what you can achieve by doing that. Plus he's the wrong age now to build a side around.

What`s a "football smart " ?

Humour me, I`m a bit thick !

Knowing when to pass, when to hold the ball up, when to play it simple, where and when to move into space, a good time in a game to shoot, when to dribble/beat a player. Game management.
Siggurdsson may have had weaker stats in the example given but I would much rather play football with Siggurdsson in my team than Barlkey, if I was of course good enough to be a pro footballer!

Barlkey can do mercurial things with a football but has no football smarts.
Siggurdsson can do really good things with a football and has loads of football smarts. Simple really, get it now?

Yet everyone criticised Ross for not giving Lukaku service. Also, you can compare Barkley to Gylfi at Swansea too and he has better stats in pretty much every department.

Barkley is simply a better player than Sigurdsson. I called it before we signed him - Gylfi is a good player, but he thrives on being the big fish in the small pond. You either set up an entire team around him or he's useless.

Barkley makes others better; Sigurdsson requires others to make him better.

I'm not referring to siggy really, just barkley was crap for a couple of seasons before he left, no effort at all just walked around the pitch doing nothing

He was one of the three players available on the break and he scored the goal.

He’s not renowned for his pace by any means, but he got up the pitch and scored - honestly don’t know how he can be criticised for not being there any quicker.

I don’t get some of the criticism he gets, Siggy didn’t set the transfer fee, Everton did so it’s irrelevant to me if he cost £45m or £1, we have a player who is much better than some of the dross in the squad so let’s get behind him.
