Again, this excuse falls under the 'must do more' category.
How many times last season when he was playing 'well' did he really take over a game like you'd expect a player of his price/supposed calibre? Think I can name about two off the top of my head - Burnley away and Lyon at home. We lost both games.
He just doesn't do enough to command the plaudits he gets, for me. I can recognise that he is talented - I've said as much during his team at his former clubs - but in person, for our football club, he just hasn't done enough.
I sincerely hope Silva can get the best out of him because, again, yes he could be key to any success - I think that's clear enough to all of us, even the most ardent critics like myself.
Just do more. Don't shy away by jogging out wide. Take over a game. Control a game. Command the ball.
