Why? Because we haven't had the squad or the manger to do so, it's one thing wanting to be top 4 but another having the team to do it.

Top 6 would be a start, were competing to improve, good players like Siggy will help us do that but he can't do it on his own. Get a few more class acts in like the Icelandic genius and top 4 might be a reality

This thread is pretty funny, one of our better player's plays great in the workd cup against Argentina and some people are all over the place in denial of his abilities.
Be interesting to see if Gana also has a good game if those who don't rate him come out with as much rubbish

Rooney played 13 games in attacking midfield, Sigurdsson played 10.

In Rooney's 13 games there he scored 4 goals and got 1 assist
In Sigurdsson's 10 games there he scored 0 goals and got 1 assist

Rooney also played centre midfield (3 goals in 6 games), centre forward (3 goals in 4 games) and all number of other midfield roles.

Funny how the washed up has been managed to do a decent enough job in 4 or 5 different roles but our £45m superstar managed 4 league goals (Huddersfield, Southampton, Swansea, Palace) getting the goals from left midfield.

Rooney's form dropped off a cliff when Gylfi got injured.

They're both good players. Rooney didn't have as bad as a season as people made out and neither did Gylfi.

Going forward, we'll get more out of Gylfi. He will be able to play the pressing game Silva wants and showed yesterday just how good he can be in a proper system - something we didn't have, at all, last season.
