Huh? I guess I missed all those midfielders with more goals...but yeah, in a team where he was the focal point of every defensive scheme, CLEARLY he just had a high volume of shots and stuff. Couldn't be that he was actually good.

Also, the open play argument is a one year thing that doesn't apply to any prior year or to him playing internationally. Frankly, why on earth would ANYONE give that guy any space in open play?

Proper weird trying to find stats from the past to say our record signing isn't good...
Since he's been here he's been half fit (because it took us so long to sign him) but he's still scored a worldy to see us through to the Europa groups and now he's just slotted twice for Iceland and I'm sure those minutes have helped his fitness too. Looking forward to seeing him gel with the team over the coming months.
