Yet not a patch on Barkley.

Barkley: 5 goals and 8 assists for us last year, he was playing 2.5 passes a game that lead to a shot, touching the ball 50 times a game (retaining it 85%) and dribbling 3+ times a game.

Siggy has scored 4 and created 3, is playing 1.5 passes that lead to shots, touching the ball 25 times (at 75%) and averaging 0.7 dribbles a game.

He also cost £45m and is 4 years older.

Yeah, but the difference is Siggy could be convinced to sign for us, and Barkley just wanted a big money move away, shafting us in the process, so he could fulfil his destiny fighting for a place on the bench at Chelsea.

What is wrong with this forum? Every single thread gets repeated posts every game. Just a constant barrage of people saying "free kick specialist only, should be played centrally, terrible player, overpaid by x amount... Followed by a math insult".

Why do all of you feel the need to say the exact same thing every week? Just clogs up threads unnecessarily
True, also lots of repetition in the threads describing the players in the same way as other posts whilst using slightly different wording, often making the same points but as if they are their own.

i'll hear nothing bad said about Gylfi.
Top, top quality in terms of what is obtainable to Everton.
His runs are fantastic. Not his fault no-one can see them. He also vacates the space on the left so intelligently. A left footed LB would have a field day down that side.

I could play 2.5 passes a match that lead to a shot when you have Mirallas and Lukaku next to you.

Gylfi has had DCL and Lennon

True, but funny how Ross "always gave the ball away" but I never hear people saying this about Gylfi.

But from his 50 touches a game RB lost the ball 7 times on average.
And from his 25 touches a game GS is losing it 6 times whilst creating fewer chances and dribbling 5x less.

Much of Ross’ passing was him dropping deep and exchanging a completely pointless ‘wall pass’ with the centre half. 5 goals is no great contribution from a player playing number ten or as a virtual second striker either.
Been a bit of a joke so far at Chelsea, maybe we should bid for him in the summer?

All these stats can be viewed however you want.
There's deeper problems than the individuals.
No point comparing Barkley in last season's team to Sig in this.

Barkley was in the centre most of the time with in form players like Schneiderlin Davies and Gueye behind and Lukaku in front.

Sigurdsson is out on the left with no recognised left back behind him with Oumar in front. Generally had out of form players in the middle.

Easy to see why Barkley's stats were better. I reckon Sigurdssons would have been fantastic in last season's team. Plenty more assists for Lukaku to slot away.

More deeper lying problems in this side that need addressing. At least Sigurdsson is one of our most hard working compared to others.

Looks like Chelsea are on a down ward move so good luck Ross.

The problem with Siggy is Allardyce!!! Not playing him in his best position.

Will attach no blame to him when he's played out of position on left of midfield with our third choice right back 'supporting' him from left back. No blame whatsoever. Same with Walcott with Kenny behind him. And because of all that, no blame to any of our strikers either.

I will also attach no blame to Pickford as he's doing more than ok with that gang of clowns in front of him.

The blame for me lies at the very heart of defence and midfield: Williams, Jagielka, Keane, Schneiderlin, Rooney. None of them can be relied on to produce over a number of games, hence they're chopped and changed to try to somehow find a magic formula that doesn't exist.

Kenny and Davies are potential but currently nowhere near the level needed but are forced in because everybody else is simply so bad.

Gueye is ok, but needs somebody of quality alongside him, and we do not possess somebody to play next to him who will enable him and the centre of midfield to flourish.

Martina is asked to do a job that he simply cannot do to any satisfactory standard.

And that's pretty much it.
