2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

Have you read his autobiography - DM only went to view him after rave reports at Derby ..... then stuck him on the wing :D

….not sure about that Joey, I was watching Osman at Bellefield from when he was just a kid. He was super talented, one of the best I’ve ever seen at Academy level so was well known at the club for a long time (his younger brother was also on our books). He suffered a serious injury at a key stage which is why we kept him on for so long before he made his debut.

He only played 12 games for Derby.

The old 608 radio programme had derby fans telephoning in saying what the hell were Everton doing { as we were struggling at that time, sending then Osman to them as he was a great player every game }

DM went to have a look at him & the rest is history - Coleman was the same, should have never gone on loan to Blackpool IMO !

Be interesting to see if Derby try to keep him if they stay up. What's he worth? What could they afford? How much is this last PSR payment Moyes was talking about?
Other than Patterson there aren't really any players we would want to sell who will still be under contract next season so maybe there is something clever that can be done where Derby buy him, Potentially sorts our PSR issue (does homegrown play a factor?), but we have an agreed lowish buy back clause so we don't miss out if he develops further.
We would be mad to sell him at the his stage.

He has the potential to be a very good player

He's young, technically excellent and just needs to develop strength , athleticism and game awareness

He came back a better player

Young lads need to be playing regularly and if they are n`t going to get game time here a drop to the championship where there are plenty of clubs that will be happy to give a player time on the field, the move will do them good.

….i’m generally not a supporter of loan deals for Everton players but the 2 you mention were arguably the best the club has ever arranged.

Coleman only played 9 games for Blackpool, Osman just 17 for Derby before collectively playing over 700 league games for the Toffees. Two great servants, those loan deals certainly worked out well, it’s not even a matter of conjecture.

Coleman was incredible at Blackpool, to be that influential at full back was remarkable. He must have come back full of belief

Blackpool tried to sign Coleman, he was that great - so why waste him ?
