Heard a rumour about the Manager interview process and rationale behind appointing Benitez

Hmm, i'm not convinced about this 'magic formula'. I accept that it worked when Paisley took over from Shankley (and every half-wit pundit has parroted its effectiveness since) but i'm not sure that the subsequent evidence supports the alleged effectiveness. I don't think that Fagan was there long enough/successful enough to count. There has been numerous coaches who have stepped in as temporary/caretaker managers when a successful manager has moved on to bigger and better things, they don't stay around for long. As for us, we tried it with Harvey who managed to turn a team of league winners into also-ran's within a few seasons.

I think the following from wiki blows your comment out of the water mate sorry...

When Shankly retired in 1974,
  1. Paisley proceeded to win six league titles and three European Cups to become the most successful manager in the history of the club.
  2. Joe Fagen took over, and continued the Boot Room tradition, and winning a treble of League, European Cup and League Cup in his first season. He again guided Liverpool to a European Cup Final.
  3. Dalglish led the club to a League and FA Cup double

I actually started looking for it, but cannot be arsed.

Basically, there was LOADS on here insinuating that Dunc had some sort of hold over the club or that BK insists that he get a role with ANY manager that come in. I pointed out that that is not how modern business works, but many still stuck the conspiracy guff
The only hold he has, that I can see is the genuine love of Everton, he wants the best for the team and the supporters, he wants success as much as we all do. He embodies everything I want from a player or manager of the club that I love...

I want to believe the club desire to build an Everton DNA, I think we will not get full support from the Usmanov until we build stability and regular European Football, Moshri like Kenwright is a front, Everton has a limited window to access this investment, they need to create a succession plan,

Are we any better? Our last success was when John Major was still prime minister.
We're about to make the same mistakes as they (and Arsenal) have: building a new stadium & crippling our finances & spending power the coming decades.
We? Lol that's a good one. :D Nine league titles to Spurs two would suggest we are quite a bit better. I think it's accepted, by the posters on here who are actual Everton fans, that a new stadium with bigger capacity, and more modern and updated corporate facilities, is badly needed to help the club generate the revenue, to compete with our competitors. Of course someone, who is a kopite pro Benitez pr spin doctor would say otherwise, and put a more shall we say negative slant on it.

Hmm i smell a red here. ⚠️ A poster with a low player valuation, waxing lyrically about the rs. This comes across as very suspicious behaviour.

The fact that they chose Benitez shows that the Ferguson thing would not have come into it one iota.
To have the bottle to appoint Benitez you don’t care about retaining Ferguson or not.
I think Benitez might have kept him for continuity and maybe he may rate him.

For Benitez to take this job and bomb Rodriguez straight away, shows he’s his own man and will do whatever he feels his right.
