The champions cup stopped having any gravitas for me once it was mainly filled with runners up, league stages, safety nets and the loss of the prospect of elimination unless you get your act together early on. There are no shocks in it any more - the award nearly always goes to the wealthiest team with the biggest squad. My interest in it as a sport is zero.

Its funny because I was told Duncan was never part of any deal, it's funny these I was told stories.

None of us are certain who was interviewed for the job as manager.

A lot of the names I saw mentioned would still have taken the Everton job if the condition was that Duncan was to be given the no. 9 jersey and played every week

If this is true, its bonkers. I like Dunc, but i highly doubt he will ever manage us. If he plans to, he needs to leave asap and learn the trade in the lower leagues first.

I'd love to be in a champions Cup though, for all the reasons needed to qualify

I wouldn't waste my time searching, but if you can point me at just ONE post that says Everton wouldn't have appointed Carlo Ancelotti unless he agreed to make Duncan Ferguson his assistant, then I will join in your laughter at that poster.

I actually started looking for it, but cannot be arsed.

Basically, there was LOADS on here insinuating that Dunc had some sort of hold over the club or that BK insists that he get a role with ANY manager that come in. I pointed out that that is not how modern business works, but many still stuck the conspiracy guff
