It depends, ive heard hes on about 65k a week, considering he doesnt play, thats a lot of money to be paying a backup.

If they pay him his whole wages then sure, they're welcome to him.

Before there was even any mention of us signing him I researched the top-ranked nations looking at any centre backs who were the right age and weren't already with a top European club. Heitinga stood out and I was delighted when we signed him. I think Moyes thought he was getting a utility player but apparently Johnny refused to play right back and it was obvious that he was never a holding midfielder.

He had that one great season but, due to the strength of the Jagielka-Distin partnership he was always going to find it tough. He's a bit of a curious character too. He seems to think that he's one of the best central defenders in the world but he's decided to spend his prime years as a bench-warmer. It seems that he doesn't do heading, his positional awareness and discipline can be pretty woeful and, for all his tough guy image, we've all seen him pull out of tackles.

This could be his last chance of going to a World Cup and I think that he could still reclaim a place in the national side. I imagine that he's holding out for Roma or a German club because he has said that he'd like to experience one more league before he goes back to Ajax.

I think the fact we've been trying to flog him for years and he just keeps refusing to go cos we pay him wages noone else does, has soured a lot on him.

That and he was utterly awful on the pitch last year. Cost us ten points by himself.

Always claps the fans and has time for us though, to give him his due.
