As other have said, he did have spells where he played really well for us, however I just think he's one of those nomadic characters who loses interest and needs to be moved on after 2-3 years, no matter what club he's at.

Not really sad to see him go, he's not the worst defender we've had by a long while, but there was no way he was going to break up the Jagielka/Distin partnership. Alcaraz impressed against Southampton so he looks to be next in line.

The 30-year old Holland defender is out of contract at the end of the season, and it is understood agreement has been reached over the £1.5million still outstanding on his £65,000-a-week wages.

Don't know what the agreement is but i guess it's a free transfer move, we save the 1.5Million we had to pay him
