Heitinga hints at Everton exit

He was the only sub who went and had a kick around with the kids at half time, doesnt make any odds ability or wages wise, but he's being painted as satan by some on here

Noticed this and what Elton said.

If we judged him on this alone he would be the best player by a mile, sadly his effort on the pitch has left a lot to be desired the past 12months.

I was gutted he was so gash last year, I bigged him up massively the season before that and he came good, so he let me down on a personal level if nothing else, if I ever get vaulted for it I will just blame moyes

Here here.

We might call his choice selfish - y'know, picking up the wages so freely thrown at you while wearing a groove into the bench - or we could say he's ****e. If he's just not good enough, we'd like effort instead. That's been missing at times, but the few times I've ever seen him run himself into the ground, he ended up f****** up royally. Maybe he just doesn't have enough in the tank to pull on the shirt (for us, anyway).

As plenty have said, he was dicked around by DM. Maybe he wanted to stay and fight for his spot? I can't imagine being too pleased if I played in the WC and saw myself passed over by a young kid. Perhaps it was a bit childish to refuse to play RB; it might have been an overreaction to seeing a £60k signing from Ireland on the teamsheet instead of his name. Who knows. We could **** him off for attempting to orchestrate a move to a club where he'll get regular starts, but he was passed over again for a guy who came from Wigan with the new boss. Now I'm not ****ging off Alcaraz or RM for bringing him, but you can't ignore how it might seem from Jonny's POV.

Bottom line: we stuck with him (for better and worse), left him on the bench, and now he wants to leave. It's a bit harsh to lampoon the guy... he hardly did a Drenthe or Shandy. Let's just hope we've got enough change left over to entice Chavski to let Lukaku go.

The thing is thought Heitinga started 17 games last year and came off the bench in another 13.

Fair play he's not been in the picture this year but he had 30 games last to play his way into first place and he was terrible in every single one of them.

That's not the managers fault, that's him just not caring.

The $64k question is... is it because he's ****e, or couldn't he be bothered?

Well no, I thought that he had the potential to become a great player - proved wrong - but I'm sure he could still be a good player. Just not at Everton. Or anywhere else in the PL. I meant... is he not good enough for the Everton mould of CB under Martinez?

But that's probably flogging a dead horse.

He was our Player of the Season and rightly so, he was amazing that Season.

Sadly 1 thing or another, maybe Moyes going with Jags the following Season or the move away didnt come off, he simply just pulled out of every 50/50 and jogged around the pitch.

Totally agree. But the whole thing leaves me scratching my head. We can pick it apart, but the simplest solution is that he stayed this long for the money, maybe the chance to win the spot (banking on an injury or Distin retiring?), and he wants to leave now because of the WC. The media agitation might let us bank something, instead of letting his contract expire.

Not perfect, but not the end of the world. It's not like buying an overrated beanpole from Newcastle for £35m. Swings and roundabouts.

...he was outstanding at times for us but I just think his attitude was poor when he had a chance to get his place back. It wouldn't surprise me if he did a decent job at West Ham.
