Heitinga hints at Everton exit

On Heitinga, I remember the rumours that he was about to leave (in his Player of the Year season). I was one of those desperate for him not to. Right now, well, he can sign a pre-contract now if he wants, I'd rather save the £1.5 million (and a loan would be better than a sale, though I'm not that worried about him playing against us, and WH need centre backs and are playing our rivals soon).

Now, WH also need strikers... Jellyfish for 3/4 million?

wouldn't ya fume if he started slotting them in though, I mean slotting like he used to

Get Duffy back from Yeovil then?

Leave him their mate, barry can slot in their in case of an emergency and distin will be back in 1 or 2 games then jags a few after, we benefit more by letting him get a full season under his belt at his age rather than maybe playing one or two emergency game then back to the reserves

He won't mate, I don't think I've ever been so sure about anything in my life.

I wouldn't be so sure mate, i think he is one of those players who when he arrives at a team always has a purple patch, no great loss if he does start slotting though as he will never regain form for us anyways, and if at west ham he manages to get them a few results from the other top 8 teams then all the better

With another player (i.e. Yakubu) maybe I'd tend to agree.

However, this lad can't even stay upright or run...ergo I wouldn't worry about him banging in the goals.

I loved Johnny when he was ace, but unfortunately it's time for him to move on.

Not trying to be clever - but I honestly cannot remember him being ace for us. I know he got fans player of the year in his time but even then I disagreed. I can well remember a few stand out blocks and then him striding manfully into midfield before launching a 40yd Hollywood pass straight into the Family Enclosure.

No for me Heitinga is up there with Bilic in our Top 5 worst signings

I disagree and reckon if he goes to West Ham he'll have a purple patch and bang in 6-10 in the remainder of the season. Jelavic has class in my opinion.

I'm 100% with you. He has always been poor in my eyes. I think he got player of the year because when Jags was out for 4 months Heitinga played at a level of 5 out of 10 rather than his usual 2 out of ten and the significant improvement of being woeful to being average won people over

I think some people are being harsh on Heitinga here. He is not poor and is definitely not one of the 5 worst signings ever.

I think he has been messed about by us, we have hawked his arse around Europe every summer and tried to sell him with Yobo to Fenerbahce which nearly blew up in our faces.

Yeah maybe.

I was very exited when we signed him.

I don't think i'd question him giving 100% when he did play, just maybe that his best was sometimes not good enough, namely when up against big, quick strikers.

I'd wish him my best if and when he does go.

Heitinga had 2 seasons of beibg very good, and 2 of being very poor. Thats the truth of the matter.

2009/10: Took a while to get up to speed with the League and was cup-tied in Europe, didn't really get going until January (with Lucas Neill of all people) for me.
2010/11: Absolutely awful, utter Bertie Big Bollocks chatting about how good he was for playing in a World Cup final. Was mainly in midfield with either crab-Arteta or Neville *shudder*.
2011/12: Better, although we as a team were utter sh*te until the New Year where he did very well, him and Hibbert against City were absolutely unreal.
2012/13: Again, awful. Any striker with strength and pace would leave him for dust. Benteke and Kone absolutely slaughtered him.

I make that about 11 months of good form.
